SAN MATEO, CA—(Marketwired – August 05, 2015) – Motif Investing, a next–generation online broker that is pioneering thematic investing, today announced the release of its highly anticipated dollar–based stock trading feature. Investors can now trade in dollar amounts enabled through Motif’s real–time fractional share trading capability for the low cost of $4.95.

While most trading platforms only allow the purchase of whole shares, many investors instinctively consider purchases in whole dollar amounts. Motif now allows investors to put any dollar amount to work in a stock or ETF — resulting in a more controlled, faster and customizable trading experience.

Dollar–based trading is part of a comprehensive product launch including, seamless single stock trading, easy to use stop loss orders, and the ability to create and trade entire stock watch lists, that will be unveiled on August 13, 2015. The new offering will be promoted through commission free trading on August 21, 2015.

“We’ve always been passionate about building a highly intuitive trading platform and now we’re extending that attention to single stock trading with real–time dollar–based trading,” said Hardeep Walia, CEO and founder of Motif Investing. “Most investors think of trading in terms of whole dollars — with Motif you no longer have to settle for rounding up to whole shares, you can trade any dollar amount that you want.”

This new offering complements the company’s award–winning platform centered around trading motifs — intelligently weighted baskets of stocks built around themes, investing styles or multi–asset models. There are over 150 professionally built motifs, and more than 130,000 community created motifs.

Motif’s free trading day will be available to anyone who signs up for a free brokerage account, and available to existing Motif customers. To participate in the free trading day and try dollar–based trading please visit Motif Investing.
