Hampden Dental Care, 7425 W. Hampden Ave., is a comprehensive dental office that provides preventive dentistry, restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, implant dentistry and gum disease and gum recession treatment.
Dr. Edlund earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Southern Illinois University with a minor emphasis in physics and mathematics. He then received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 1982 from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville. He started Hampden Dental Care immediately after graduating dental school. Dr. Edlund is currently enrolled in courses at MIT, where he continues training on using 3D imaging to fabricate dental implant surgical guides.
Since graduating dental school, Dr. Edlund has immersed himself in continuing education courses — about 100 hours every year — in order to integrate the latest technology into his practice. He uses digital radiography; 3D imaging to diagnose patients and place dental implants; CAD–CAM technology to provide patients same–day crowns; and the Nd:YAG laser for periodontal therapy. Dr. Edlund is trained in the LANAP procedure for gum disease treatment and is a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He earned his certificate in dental implants from the Misch International Institute of Implants and regularly teaches at Henry Schein corporation on the topic of CBCT and how to effectively integrate digital imaging into dentistry.
As the Dental Careers of Colorado LLC program director and instructor, Dr. Edlund takes a special interest in training students on the latest dental technology.
