In case you missed the Game Awards 2014 this past Friday, here’s the four-minute glimpse at the Wii U Legend of Zelda Nintendo ended the show with.

The footage, albeit it off camera and presided over by Shigeru Miyamoto and series producer Eiji Aonuma, offers a look at the open-world inspirations that have served as a design philosophy for the new Zelda installment. It also reveals the (obvious) function the GamePad’s second screen will serve—permanent resting place of this big world’s map.

The two also confirm that The Legend of Zelda will arrive next year, though after Miyamoto’s yet-revealed Star Fox project for Wii U.
