Despite still being in early access, Studio Wildcard has released the first expansion for ARK: Survival Evolved called Scorched Earth.

“Scorched Earth is an completely new and different experience from The Island. Stranded naked, dehydrated and starving on a fiery, drought-ridden desert world, Survivors must immediately seek water, hunt for food, harvest new flora, craft new items, and build shelter from the extreme heat,” the developer explains.

The expansion features an entirely new map, composed of seven unique, desert themed biomes—dunes, high desert, mountains, canyons, badlands, oasis, and the dragon trench. There’s also a number of new creatures to fight and tame such as the camel-like Morellatops, the fire-breathing Wyvern, and the might Death Worm.

“Discover over 50 new items to craft including new outfits and structures to protect from the heat, and new tools to help survive in the harsh environment,” the developer adds. “Carry temporary shelter with you using tents, employ whips, boomerangs and flamethrowers for ‘defense’, wind turbines to generate clean power, and water wells & oil refineries to harvest scarce resources, among many new mechanics!”

Finally, players can unleash the power of the Obelisks on this new map to summon the ferocious Manticore.

Scorched Earth uses a new feature called The Gateway. This new feature allows players to travel back and forth between the Scorched Earth map and the ARK: Survival Evolved main game, bringing with them any creatures and items that they have.

ARK: Scorched Earth is available now on Xbox One and PC for $19.99.
