Nintendo’s 3DS-centric Direct broadcast brought a slew of announcements for the handheld, including new games, amiibo figures, DLC, and more. If you missed out on the festivities, you can check out the full video below and see a rundown of all the major reveals just below that.
Super Mario Maker is coming to the 3DS.
A new look at Pokémon Sun and Moon showed off changes to some familiar Pokémon.
Nintendo revealed four new amiibo designed to commemorate the 30th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda. They’ll each offer “special functionality” with the next game in the series, Breath of the Wild.
In other Zelda news, Skyward Sword is now available for the Wii U virtual console, meaning you can play the Wii classic on Nintendo’s newest system starting today.
The newly announced Mario Sports Superstars will bring Mushroom Kingdom–themed variants of soccer, basketball, tennis, golf, and horse racing to the 3DS in one package. The game will support single-player as well as local and online multiplayer when it arrives in spring of 2017.
The 3DS is getting Poochy and Yoshi’s Woolly World, an expanded port of the Wii U platformer that puts the yarnified version of the Yoshi’s dog companion front and center. New stages focused on Poochy will be included, and a yarn Poochy amiibo is also on the way. The game arrives on February 3rd, 2017.
A new side-scrolling Pikmin game, still without any official title, will be coming to Nintendo 3DS in 2017. The game uses the touchscreen to allow players to throw Pikmin and overcome obstacles.
Tank Troopers, a game that, as you might have guessed, centers around tank combat, got its big reveal. It’ll hit the 3DS eShop this winter.
New Hyrule Warriors Legends DLC is out today, bringing Toon Zelda as a new playable character and a new weapon for Toon Link. Also included are 15 My Fairy costume pieces, an Adventure Mode map, and Adventure battle, and two Challenge battles. The pack can be purchased for $6.99, but if you buy a special $9.99 bundle, you can also use the new content in the Wii U version of Hyrule Warriors.
As of today, a premium update to Mii Plaza Premium will let up to 100 amiibo encountered via StreetPass hang out at the Plaza Gate.
Five new StreetPass minigames—Slot Car Rivals, Market Crashers, Feed Mii, Mii Trek, and Ninja Launcher—are also available for $2.99 each. Players can pick one game to download free of charge, though only two options are available for this special promotion: Slot Car Rivals and Market Crashers. All the games are also available in a single bundle at the reduced price of $8.99.
Nintendo announced Animal Crossing: Welcome amiibo, an updated version of New Leaf that includes an update for the base game as well expanded amiibo support and a new set of amiibo cards. The update will be available separately for current New Leaf owners. A future Nintendo Direct dedicated just to Animal Crossing will share more details.
Picross 3D Round 2, the sequel to the popular puzzle game, is now available for purchase and download on the 3DS. You can check out the launch trailer on Nintendo’s YouTube channel.
Ever Oasis, a dungeon crawler developed by Grezzo, the team behind The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D, will arrive in 2017. The Direct included some new footage of the game’s dungeons and towns.
Also announced was a new Mii-centric game called Miitopia. Nintendo provided few details, and it’s not even clear if the game will ever come West. It’ll be out in Japan later this year as both a physical and digital release.
