The Africology Spa at The Maslow Hotel in South Africa has won the coveted 2013 Les Nouvelles Esthetiques Award in the Unique Spa Concept category.

The award winners were announced at the 9th annual Les Nouvelles Esthetiques Spa Awards last month at The Maslow Hotel. Les Nouvelles Esthetiques Spa Awards provides local and international travellers with a comprehensive choice of award winning spas, and a reliable source of spa information and recommendations, within South Africa.

This is the second prestigious award the Africology Spa at The Maslow has received since opening in January 2013. The Spa was also voted Country Winner – Best Luxury Hotel Spa in the 2013 World Luxury Hotel Awards.
Indeed, The Africology Spa at The Maslow is unique. As the hotel is particularly popular with business travellers, the spa menu has a special focus on stress-relieving and balancing treatments that cater for this market.
“We offer treatments particularly geared for male business travellers that treat the endocrine system, supplement melatonin and relieve aches and pains associated with long haul flights,” says founder, Renchia Droganis. “The needs of male spa guests differ from those of female guests, as men tend to prefer a more straightforward approach. We offer 45-minute express treatments alongside 60 and 90-minute treatments, targeting executives on their lunch break as well as those wanting two hours of pampering.”
Another unique feature of the Spa is the Hydrotherapy zone which includes an ice walkway, a first in South Africa, plus a Sauna, Jacuzzi and Razul steam room. Africology uses hot and cold therapies to enable healing. The Razul offers a unique body exfoliation treatment using mud and botanical scented steam and cold water therapy.
