Macarthur fine dining restaurant, Infusion, at the Rydges Campbelltown hotel has been named the best hotel, motel or resort restaurant in southern NSW.

Infusion – home of French executive chef, Loic Lemaitre – won the award at the 2013 Savour Australia  Restaurant and Catering HOSTPLUS Awards, run by Restaurant and Catering Australia in Wollongong recently.

On hand to celebrate the accolade at the awards ceremony were Mr Lemaitre, Rydges Campbelltown General Manager Blair Wallace, Food and Beverages Operations Manager Shelly Watson, Food and Beverages Supervisor Bridget Johnston and Sous Chef Matt Ovington.

The award follows Mr Lemaitre’s success to reach the finals of Foodservice Australia’s 2013 Chef of the Year competition in Melbourne in June this year.

Mr Wallace said he was proud Infusion at Rydges Campbelltown was able to showcase the culinary appeal of the Macarthur region, 45 minutes south-west of the Sydney CBD.

“As the birthplace of Australia’s food and wine industries, the Macarthur region is so fortunate to have an accomplished master chef like Loic Lemaitre working his magic in our area and the Rydges Campbelltown is very proud to be his culinary home,” Mr Wallace said.

“Rydges Campbelltown strives to offer locals and visitors alike one of Macarthur’s best fine-dining experiences and this latest award proves we are plating up that goal in style. We invite local residents and tourists to treat themselves to a meal at Infusion soon so they can taste the award-winning cuisine themselves.”
