According to the Dallas-based AVO Training Institute (AVO), its newly released nine-module online course series on Arc Flash Electrical Safety incorporates important 2015 NFPA 70E updates. Modules include:

“Intro to Arc Flash Hazards”

“NFPA 70E Introduction”

“NFPA 70E & OSHA Qualified Person Requirements”

“NFPA 70E & OSHA Un-Qualified Person Requirements”

“Arc Flash Hazard Analysis”

“Electrical Safety Program”

“Establishing an Electrically Safe Work Condition”

“Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)”

“Energized Electrical Work Permits”

The company notes that this self-paced, online series is designed to help individuals who may otherwise find it difficult to attend traditional classroom training sessions. Online learning provides a convenient way for those with part- or full-time jobs to pursue their professional development goals while maintaining regular work schedules.

Developed by AVO’s experienced team of Electrical Safety Instructors as subject matter experts and instructional designers, the new material is carefully structured to help educate students on strengthened requirements of NFPA 70E, OSHA, and other related standards.

The online Arc Flash Electrical Safety series is available for purchase on an individual-module basis, for $49 each, or as a complete nine-module bundled set, for $379.

A certificate of completion is issued for successfully passing each module, as is a “Certificate of Achievement” for completion of the complete series. (Note: The “Certificate of Achievement” is only issued to those who purchase the complete course series and successfully pass all nine modules. Each customer is given 120 days to complete the course series, which includes an additional 30 days at no cost.)

Kevin Elmore, AVO Training’s director of development and strategic growth, explained that although the company’s online courses will never replace its instructor-led “hands-on” classroom experience, they instill crucial electrical-safety knowledge while fitting in with the individual needs and lifestyles of customers.

Elmore pointed to a number of AVO instructor-led offerings that are directly complemented by the online Arc Flash Electrical Safety series, including a two-day NFPA 70E program; and courses on Electrical Safety for Industrial Facilities; Electrical Safety for Inspectors; Electrical Safety for Utilities; and National Electrical Code 2014. These and other AVO course with real-world-application components are available at campuses nationwide, and can be delivered on-site at end-user facilities.
