Fitness cheeking with a smart watch

Osram Opto Semiconductors’ new sensor designed to measure pulse rates and oxygen saturation level of blood has been incorporated into fitness armbands and smartwatches. It is more stable then earlier models with a reduced energy consumption level. Researchers have found that green light is the best for measuring the pulse rate at the wrist. Oxygen situation in the blood is calculated from different absorption rates of red and infrared light.
