The rebrand, live from December 2015, sees the firm operating from the Smith Cooper Derby office in Grade I listed building, St Helen’s House and under the name of Smith Cooper Independent Mortgage and Finance Advice (“Smith Cooper IMFA”).
Smith Cooper IMFA offer a range of mortgage and finance solutions for individuals and businesses across the UK.
Suzanne Bradshaw, Managing Director, commented: “With the Government regularly changing rules for investors, keeping up with these and finding the right mortgage or funding solution is an extremely complex and time consuming process – and that’s where we come in to advise individuals and businesses on the best option available to them.
“It’s a very exciting time for our company as we are now directly authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority which means we are whole of market advisers and thus have more flexibility in finding suitable financial arrangements to suit all of our clients’ needs.
Suzanne said the decision had been made to keep the Smith Cooper name, which encompasses all of the firm’s services and group companies due to the history and positive associations with the brand.
“Smith Cooper are an extremely well known and highly regarded firm in the Midlands, so keeping the name was a no brainer.”

Following the partnership, Smith Cooper now covers: accountancy and business advisory services, independent financial advice, Sage software sales and support, managed IT services, mobile phone and communications for businesses and mortgages.
Andrew added: “a key benefit to our client base is that we now have an in-house specialist team with a focus on finding the right funding or mortgage who can work alongside your existing Smith Cooper advisors to really ensure you are utilising the best options available to you.”
Smith Cooper IMFA will have an official launch party in March.
