The Chopping Block, based at Flecknoe, near Rugby in Warwickshire, has purchased a new airstream trailer which is being used to cater at high-profile festivals and events.
The firm is partnering with the RSPCA’s ethical food label dedicated to farm animal welfare, RSCPA Assured – previously Freedom Food – to cater at events such as Jamie’s Big Feastival, the Wolf Run, Maverick Festival and Somersault Festival.
The eye-catching trailer is also being used to serve up RSPCA Assured-labelled meals at Zooloos glamping site being used during the Glastonbury Festival.
The Chopping Block specialises in food and drink catering for corporate events, festivals and weddings. It is part of the Venue Group, a leading provider of bespoke event management to rural venues and country estates.
The firm is run by business partners and brothers, Ben and Gwil Jones, and employs around 70 full-time and casual staff.
Ben said: “We’ve invested heavily in the new airstream trailer and are delighted to be partnering with RSPCA Assured to cater at a wide range of events up and down the country.
“The RSPCA Assured label is a benchmark of higher welfare standards and we share their commitment to quality food.”
Gwil said: “The idea for The Chopping Block was cooked up in the kitchen of our family farm and the name was actually inspired by the traditional chopping block at the very heart of it.
“We’ve expanded massively since we launched 13 years ago, in particular in the last few years, and cater at a growing number of corporate events and weddings.
“We’re delighted to be in a position to purchase this new airstream trailer to strengthen our services at festivals and other events.”
RSPCA Assured’s Liam Kurzeja added: “We’re pleased to be teaming up with The Chopping Block and look forward to seeing the RSPCA Assured branded food mobile at various festivals over the summer.
“Working with The Chopping Block will help us give festival fans the chance to try some RSPCA Assured higher welfare food, and also help spread the word about our recent change of name.”
The latest partnership builds on The Chopping Block’s established relationships as long-term catering partners to the likes of the NFU and NFU Mutual.
