A new dedicated website (www.summerinworcester.com) has launched and a comprehensive marketing and advertising campaign starts this week.  There will also be an extensive social media campaign via Facebook (www.facebook.com/summerinthewoo) and Twitter #SummerinWorcester and @Summerinthewoo).

“Worcester comes alive in the summer – it’s the perfect place to relax and have a picnic, take a riverside walk or bike ride, and enjoy some of the huge variety of cultural and sporting events on offer,” says Victoria Carman, newly appointed Tourism and Marketing Officer for Worcester City Council.

“This year we are redoubling our efforts to introduce new visitors to Worcester from across the UK, and internationally.  Tourism has a very important role to play in the local economy, and boosting our offering can bring real benefits to the High Street as well as other local businesses.”

Worcester Foodie Festival:  29, 30, 31 July:

Over 60 stalls offering delicious food and drink from local businesses.  There will also be cookery demonstrations and master class workshops by a variety of well-established chefs.

Reggae band UB40 heads for Worcester: 10 September

Worcestershire County Cricket Club

Reggae legends UB40 will headline a 12-hour festival and will be joined by Lulu, the Lighthouse Family and a number of other star acts. Doors will open at 11am and the event will finish at midnight.

Get set for the Worcester City 10K and Run-Bike-Run!

The ever-popular running event will be back for a third time on Sunday 18 September 2016.  The route takes in some of the best sights in the City, including the Worcester Cathedral, viaduct and the famous River Severn.
