If you’re an Amazon Prime member, remember to borrow books from Amazon’s lending library. The library has over 500,000 titles you can borrow. Often times they are giving out free smartphone apps too.

Subscribe & Save Program: If you are like many, you order several items every month – Save some money by checking those items to see if they are part of the Subscribe & Save program, which gives you a discount from 5 to 20% off and automatically ships the product to you on a regular schedule, of your choosing. It is important to note, that they email you before your items ship and you may skip a delivery if desired.
Price Tracking: If you are thrifty, you may want to wait until an item you are interested in drops below a certain price. You may be happy trying CamelCamelCamel to keep an eye on prices. You can set alerts that will notify you via email and it’s totally free.
Warehouse deals: Amazon has a really large selection of what they call Warehouse Deals where you’ll see the open and damaged box, like-new, and refurbished items at deep discounts. Each item is inspected and guaranteed by Amazon.
Mom and student accounts: Joining Amazon Mom will get you the same benefits as Prime, but it will cost you the same price. However, you get additional benefits such as 20 percent off diapers and wipes. If you join the Amazon Student program, you’ll get Amazon Prime free for the first six months, then 50 percent off Prime membership after that.
Price drop policy: Currently Amazon has an unofficial price drop policy that allows you to get the drop in price in an item you ordered within 7 days of shipment. You do have to watch for the price drop yourself as it is not automatic and the difference is refunded back to your original form of payment. This policy only works if Amazon sells and ships the item.
Trade-in program: We all have items we no longer have a use for, or have replaced with newer ones. You may want to consider Amazon’s trade-in program. Basically, if an item is being accepted by Amazon you submit a request to trade-in, or sell, your used item back to Amazon, they give you a price estimate based on the item condition and even provide you with a return shipping label for free. You may wait up to 7-14 days after they receive the item and credit is given in the form of an Amazon gift certificate applied to your account. Popular items include used cell phones, video games and electronics.
Used items: Be sure to check out the used items within each product page, giving you the option to buy from third-party sellers sort of like eBay without the bidding factor. Save on the item you want by checking out the used options. Just make sure you review the shipping costs, because each seller can have their own pricing.
