The Falls Music & Arts Festival have just added 10 new acts to their expansive 2013 line-up, in time for general public ticket sales starting tomorrow morning at 9am! These additions will be playing across the stunning coastal locations of Lorne Victoria, Marion Bay, Tasmania and Byron Bay, New South Wales this summer. In alphabetical order they are:

Indie songstress Emma Louise with her new album Vs Head Vs Heart that includes hits like ‘Mirrors’ and ‘Pontoon’.

Sydney hip-hop duo Horrorshow with a captivating new album King Amongst Many, which combines philosophical lyrics and intimate productions set alongside their signature deep beats.

The Hungry Kids Of Hungary are four gents from Brisbane whose musical inspiration touches on Blues, Rock, Soul, R&B and 1960 style pop-rock, demonstrated best in their latest album You’re A Shadow.

Johnny Marr is an institution. The co-songwriter and guitarist for The Smiths, part time member of bands such as Modest Mouse, The Cribs and The Pretenders is back, this time with a solo album The Messenger. It’s big, bright and full of jangly guitar rock, exactly what you’d expect from one of music’s greatest guitarists.

Taking out the Falls JB Seed slot is Oliver Tank, whose track ‘Embrace’ feat Fawn Mayers has been described by Richard Kingsmill as “In a word – perfect”.

The Paper Kites are an indie-folk band from Melbourne who have just released their first studio album Slates; it’s rich in experimental sounds and darkly introspective journeys.

One of the finest acts in Australia at the moment is The Rubens. Nominated for J Awards and ARIA Awards in 2012 with the release of their self-titled album, which included hits like ‘Lay It Down’ and ‘My Gun’.

Thundamentals are an exciting hip-hop group originating from The Blue Mountains region outside of Sydney in Australia.

Violent Soho are screaming their way back on to the scene with the release of their much-loved singles ‘Tinderbox’ and ‘Neighbour Neighbour’, off their new album Hungry Ghost.

Philadelphia band The War On Drugs have released two studio albums, including their 2011 hit Slave Ambient to critical acclaim. Known for their laidback style, the four-piece have crafted nostalgic anthems with their signature brand of rock, folk, blues and everything in between.

TICKETS:

The festival’s ticket ballot sales, which concluded yesterday afternoon, went quickly with the all of the ticket allocations to Lorne selling out. Allocations set aside to all events and any remaining tickets from the ballot are going on general sale to the public tomorrow morning at 9amAEST via the festival’s website fallsfestival.com.

Falls is a festival to travel for; if you haven’t already you should consider a destination holiday this December. Tasmania is the perfect place to have an adventure over summer, with a wide range of events and activities in full swing.
