Opening today is the newest addition to Whole Foods in the Phoenix market. This stylish new store is offering up some new things. Scratch made bread for Biltmore area residents and a swanky new beer and wine tavern.  I had the chance to preview the new store this past week.  Come along and checkout this gorgeous new store.  And please pardon the dust, the staff was working tirelessly to get everything perfect for the opening.  Thanks to Whole Foods Camelback for sponsoring this post.

Whole Foods uses a variety of labels to recognize companies using responsible food practices and those that give the best value.  Keep an eye open for these labels:

NON GMO Project- Whole Foods supports full food transparency and labeling non GMO foods.  Look for the label indicating brands verified as non GMO, and checkout these other tips for avoiding GMO’s.

Everyday Low Price- Red shelf strips and pricing tags identify products that give the best value.  The store’s brand Everyday 365 offers an everyday value in traditional and organic.

Premium Body Care- In the whole body department keep an eye open for the premium body care label.  These products meet strict standards.

Animal Welfare- Labeling continues into the meat department where farmers are recognized on a 5 step scale for animal wellbeing.

You’ll find the same great whole juice bar and a coffee and smoothie bar, but one of my favorite features of the new store is the EXPRESS checkout.  Separate from the general checkout aisles these are conveniently located near a side entrance for those quick stops for prepared food or a milk run.

This is going to be my husbands favorite new spot.  Twenty Highland Tavern features 36 craft beers and 6 wine taps.  While I’m not a beer or wine drinker the environment is so inviting and relaxing.  Crossing my fingers for a westside Whole Foods with one of these taverns.  It would be the perfect new hangout spot for my mom’s nights out.

While I don’t believe these dishes are on the official prepared food menu I can attest to the skills of the chef.  We sampled this delicious grilled romaine salad and BBQ chicken sandwich.  They even sent us all home with the ingredients to try it out at home ourselves.
