Hello Carta Bella friends and fans, Becki here. New York City is at the top of my bucket list. Working with the Metropolitan Girl collection made me pine for the glamour of the big city even more. I created this adorable card using this collection. When I first laid eyes on this collection I fell in love with the tall building on the element sticker sheet. I created a tall skinny (3 1/2 x 8 1/2 inch) card. I created this card to fit in a business size envelope.
I started by creating my card base out of the pink heart patterned paper (cut from the borders patterned paper at 8 1/2 x7). Once I had the card base cut and scored, it was time to start the fun part, embellishing! I cut a piece of the blue patterned paper slightly smaller than the base of the card to create a card front. I added a small strip of black and white paper to the left edge of the card front. I machine stitched around the front of the card with my sewing machine and white thread. After the machine stitching was done I adhered a string of small white pearls along the edge. I LOVE the extra dimension and glamour that the pearls add to this card.
Then, I adhered the tall building stickers. I adhered the stickers with foam adhesive so the buildings could overlap the pearls.
After I had the buildings in place I added piece of cream colored grosgrain ribbon tied in a bow to the left of the buildings. I added black button tied with crochet thread in the center of the bow.
On the right side of the buildings I added the gorgeous shopping lady chipboard sticker. Once again, I used pop dots to adhere this sticker so the lady would be in front of the buildings instead of behind them. At the base of the buildings I added the "be your own kind of beautiful" sentiment chipboard sticker (on pop dots). The finishing touch to this card was the firework stickers above and below the buildings with charcoal enamel dots in the center.
