LOL. Well firstly I am most definitely NOT selling Hiarcs - I am DEMONSTRATING Hiarcs. I get not one penny commission from sales of Hiarcs or anything else. Secondly, maybe, just maybe, I actually like the software, and am writing what I think about it. And maybe I am a free-willed human who can be objective and still have a strong viewpoint without having a secret (or not so secret) agenda.

Sarcasm aside, if you think that the graphical tree is important and the lack of such a feature means that Hiarcs is inferior to TascBase, then that is your opinion. I do not agree. I wouldn't like that style of interface and find the "tree" in Hiarcs opening explorer much easier and more useful.

That said, if you like tascbase, and find it useful, then by all means keep using it, and don't change. However, to the thousands of other people who want chess software that has a vast array of features, then I would suggest they look at HCE as a possible choice.

I also "work" for ChessBase, and am a massive fan of their software. However HCE standard version is MUCH cheaper than ChessBase and has many advanced database management features. But again, I urge anyone who is interested to do some reaserch and find the best software for their needs. You could even look at Convekta or Chess King software (with whom I have no affilliation whatsoever!).

If anyone wants my (impartial) advise on which software to buy, and a free demonstration of HCE, please come find me at the Classic between 12-6pm on Saturday and Sunday at the Classic!

But it isn't much cheaper than ChessBase if ChessBase costs 99 Euro. Evidently, you get more for the money if you buy ChessBase. Moreover, you could not have found that the HCE tree is better than TascBase's graphical tree, since you haven't tried the latter. It is a way of reasoning which shows that you aren't objective in your judgment. Anyway, TascBase also has the HCE type of tree. It has two different trees.
