What Time Are The Emmy Awards On? Start Time Is 5:00 pm

Well, it wasn’t the headline catching night for Netflix that fans of their show “House of Cards” had hoped for, but the show did win one prominent award last night and two others at the much lower profile Creative Arts Emmys hosted a week ago.

Director David Finch of “House of Cards” took the award for “Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series” for the initial episode of the ground breaking series which award is a primetime award and a historic accomplishment for Netflix. Ironically, Finch was not able to attend the show and accept the award in person.

Other winners were “Breaking Bad” for Best Drama, Claire Danes for “Lead Actress in a Drama Series” for her work in “Homeland”, Jeff Daniels for “Lead Actor in a Drama Series” for “Newsroom”, Anna Gunn for “Supporting Actress in a Drama Series” for “Breaking Bad”, Bobby Cannavale for “Supporting Actor in a Drama Series” for “Boardwalk Empire”, “Modern Family” for “Outstanding Comedy Series”, Julia Louis-Dreyfus for “Lead Actress in a Comedy Series” for “Veep”, and Jim Parsons for “Lead Actor in a Comedy Series” for “The Big Bang Theory”.

Early into the programming, actor Kevin Spacey thrilled audiences with his sidebar commentary of the job of host in a manner similar to what he does in the series “House of Cards” wherein he politely & proverbially “backstabs” those who betray him.
