Peanut Butter Bliss Bars are delicious, sweet, and a fun treat when you are hitting the road for some summer fun.

You guys, I love road trips!!! Like love them. So much so that I have and continue to willingly take my 4 kids on long road trips by myself. I started this when they were babies, driving to and from California several times a year, and have continued it as they have gotten older.

Why do I take them by myself? Well, if I waited for the hubs to be able to go we’d never go.

Last summer we got to spend about 21 days on the road, and this summer should bring about the same. I just finished planning out my summer trip, and while I have a few details to finalize, I can’t wait to hit the road.

I need finish out my commitments here, make some road trip treats, like these killer peanut butter bliss bars, get my car road ready, and do some cleaning. Then I can go! Can’t wait.

I love peanut butter, and whenever we are on a road trip I can’t seem to get enough of it. It is a great source of protein, but tastes like a treat, so in anticipation of this road trip I decided to make a batch of peanut butter bliss bars for when the peanut butter craving hits.

Now I realize they have chocolate on them, but I usually just pop them in my cooler and they are fine. Of course, I bring along some wet wipes to clean up any smears of chocolate on my fingers I neglect to get with my tongue. Haha

Anyway, if you are going road tripping soon, or just want a really awesome treat, be sure to try these out. They are really easy to make, and taste like a giant peanut butter cup!

They are just right for when I want a treat on the road. Anyway, besides make treats, a couple things I always do before I head out for a road trip is get my oil changed, get my tires checked and aligned, and plan food, games, and fun for my kids while we travel.

I love getting my oil changed using Pennzoil from Walmart. I drive an old minivan, yes…I am cool like that, so I use the High Mileage Pennzoil oil change, which gives my car complete protection, and helps clear out the sludge other (lesser) oils leaves behing, which allows me to drive an extra 550 miles per year. It is the best oil for protecting against friction, and when I am on the road by myself with my kids, I don’t want to risk a breakdown.

Plus, I seriously just love that I can pull into Walmart’s Service Center, drop off my car, and then shop for all the other stuff I usually need when preparing for a road trip while they change the oil. With 4 kids in tow, sitting around a service center to wait for the oil change just does not work for me at all! So it is a total win.

Plus it is cheap! In fact, from June 10th – September 9th, Pennzoil oil changes will be on Rollback at Walmart Automotive Care Center stores. Which makes the high milage oil change I usually get just $35.88. And that is a real steal considering the Pennzoil Warranty which covers 15 engine parts that may fail due to engine wear. You can learn more about that on the Pennzoil Warranty Site.

Anyway, they are super nice, and do a great job. This last time they even had air fresheners for customers to choose from! I got a coconut one and now I want a pina colada every single time I drive. Haha!

Head to Walmart and get your Pennzoil oil changed before you hit the road, and don’t forget to make peanut butter bliss bars to enjoy on the road!

But if you aren’t a huge peanut butter fan, don’t worry, there are a lot of other homemade road trip snack options I have gathered up for you from lots of amazing bloggers. There is sure to be something you will love.
