Oh this was loads of fun with the kids. A great little make for hanging on your tree or for giving away as a homemade edible gift (think teachers). Or even as a christmas party activity for the little folk. You could of course just scoff them amongst yourselves for no particular reason.

I’ve made a few biscuity decs in the past and they can be short on the flavour stakes and have a tendency to look a little burnt. But these are definitely an exception. While a few of them may have been a little on the overcooked side (it was a busy day!), they didn’t look it and were pretty tasty to boot. And we weren’t too precious when a few happened to break before getting to the hanging stage, snatched and gobbled down in a flash. Good job the kids didn’t notice.

A great project for little hands. My kids loved mixing the dough, cutting out the biscuits and the all important blinging up decorations. Then of course there was the eating (don’t tell anyone but they had one for a naughty pre-christmas breakie this morning). And please do look out for the next in my edible gifts series, choccie truffles. Another perfect (but messy!) make for little hands and a good pressie for those hard-working teachers.

These Fun & Festive Owls made great wee gift bags for the Decs  (notably not crafted by myself, but purchased from Hobbycraft!)

I shall of course be entering my post to a number of blogging competitions, of which there really are quite a few so brace yourselves. Firstly to very own Family Foodies that I co-host with Vanesther of Bangers & Mash. I’m hosting December and we’ve chosen the rather apt theme of Kids Christmas. Next to Vanesther’s new blogging challenge, The Spice Trail, as this month’s theme is lovely Cinnamon. Tea Time Treats, co-hosted by Karen over at Lavender and Lovage and for the very last time by Kate of What Kate Baked, is all about Edible Gifts this month of which these have and would make a lovely pressie. And finally to Alphabakes, co-hosted by Caroline Makes and this month by The More than Occasional Baker, happens to be showcasing the letter X this month which would handily include the word ‘xmas’. Phew, now for the recipe….
