A very Happy New Year to you all, can you believe we’re now in 2017?! I have no idea where 2016 went, it whizzed by so fast! Not without a recipe or two though, so before I start I thought it would be nice to look back over the last year and share the top 10 most popular recipes here on the Eats Amazing blog over the last year.

2016 was an eventful year for our family; we bought our first house, started renovating it, moved to a new area, a new school for my 8 year old and the start of pre-school for my 3 year old, and through it all, blogging here at Eats Amazing continued to be a huge part of my life.

I’m so grateful to every single one of you, for reading my waffling, trying my recipes and joining me here on the site and across my social media pages.  I’m grateful for every comment, like, watch of my videos and share of my posts and nothing makes my day more than hearing that you tried one of my ideas or recipes, especially if you enjoyed it! I’m sure I don’t say it enough, but thank you, every one of you. You make it possible for me to fill my days with fun food and creativity, working around my family in a job that I couldn’t love more. I do work hard at the blog, giving it my all every day, sometimes late into the night, but it would be nothing without your support, so thank you, thank you, thank you!

Back to the recipes though, the backbone of Eats Amazing! The following 10 recipes have been the most visited over the last year, some of them over 100,000 times (wow!).

At number 10 were my easy fruit rockets, a fun and healthy snack for celebrating Bonfire Night, New Year’s Eve or over the pond, the 4th of July! Find out all the details here: Easy Fruit Rockets Recipe.

At number 9 were my Watermelon Push Pops – a super simple idea that was a big hit in the summer months, I look forward to making them again this year! You can find the recipe here: Frozen Watermelon Push Pops recipe.

At number 8, these simple Dairy Free Raspberry Chocolates were enjoyed all the year around. With simple, easy to find ingredients and no refined sugar, they are a healthier option than shop bought chocolates – perfect for Valentines Day next month.  You can find out how to make them here: Dairy Free Raspberry Chocolates recipe.

At number 7, my Minion Cupcakes are still proving popular! They’re so easy to make and lots of fun for parties. You can find out how to make them yourself here: Minion Cupcakes tutorial.

My 6th most popular recipe was for Homemade Pitta Breads. I gave these a try during Real Bread Week last year, and they were absolutely delicious and far easier to make than I’d expected. You’ll find the recipe for these here: Homemade Spelt Pittas Bread recipe.

At number 5, these easy peasy mini quiches were a hit at home and here on the blog! Perfect for popping in a lunch box or bringing along to a picnic, this recipe is part of my ‘Easy Recipes for Kids’ series and comes with a free child-friendly recipe sheet to print out and try. You can find the recipe here: Easy Mini Quiches recipe.

My Shepherds Pie with Sweet Potato Mash was a runaway hit at number 4 – a great family meal stuffed with tons of hidden vegetables.  Serve up in one big dish or portion it out so the children can have their very own pies – either way it’s delicious! You’ll find the recipe here: Shepherds Pie with Sweet Potato Mash recipe.

Another simple recipe that went down really well in 2016 were these Easter Egg Breakfast Popsicles. These make a great treat for the Easter season and best of all they’re healthy enough to eat for breakfast – win win! These were made with lots of help from my littlest – it’s a great recipe for toddlers. Find out how to make them here: Easter Egg Breakfast Popsicles recipe.

I was blown away last month with the reaction to my Marshmallow Penguins this December – in just one month they became the 2nd post popular recipe on the blog for the whole of the year! They launched this year’s Eats Amazing Fun Festive Food Advent calendar and are definitely one of my favourite creations to date! You can find out how to make them here: Marshmallow Penguins tutorial.

In joint 1st place with well over 200,000 page views between them, my Frozen Banana Yogurt Bites and Frozen Fruity Yogurt Bites remained at the top of the popularity list last year. They are both super simple recipes (another great one for toddlers to help with) and I’ve had lots of positive feedback from readers who have tried and enjoyed them. If you’re looking for a healthy snack to enjoy the year around, these are great to keep a stash of in the freezer. You can find out how to make them and also download the free child friendly recipe sheets for them both here: Frozen Banana Yogurt Bites recipe and Frozen Fruity Yogurt Bites recipe.

As well as recipes, I’ve had some really popular round-up style posts this year too. From 15 Easy Healthy Breakfast Recipes for Kids to 40 Healthy Snack Ideas for Toddlers, my Ultimate List Sandwich Fillings (140 ideas!) to an Alphabet of Bento Lunches and the ever popular 60 Lunch Box Ideas to Mix & Match, I hope that you have found these recipes and posts useful for feeding your family over the last year.

If you’ve tried any of my recipes, I’d love to hear about it in the comments below or over on my Facebook page, Twitter profile or Instagram page, and I’d be delighted to take requests for new recipes or fun themed food ideas too!

Here’s to a happy and successful 2017, and thank you all once again for your support!
