I recently came home to this gorgeous floral Carlotta romper from Selfie Leslie, an online fashion boutique that launched internationally in 2015 and has continuously been expanding to include tons of distinct, trendy clothes! This is my second time reviewing clothing by contemporary fashion boutique Selfie Leslie. This Australian-based brand, popular for their stunning, high-quality dresses and rompers, sells a collection of unique styles from sexy and elegant to sweet and simple, with everything to fulfill your wardrobe needs from day to night.
Last time, I reviewed their Wendy coral lace-up dress, a one-of-a-kind romper/dress with a plunging lattice-style neckline and cap sleeves. Their Wendy dress was very sexy and well made, so I was delighted to try out another one of their styles!
Selfie Leslie has released many new styles recently, ranging from feminine floral pieces to minimalistic monochrome clothes. It was hard to pick a favorite, but I ended up choosing their Carlotta romper in black floral. This piece, sold in sizes XS-L, is also offered in a refreshing pastel blue print and an enchanting white floral print.
This sleeveless romper is constructed from an 100% rayon fabric that gives it stretch, softness, and comfort. The top features a textured, padded sweetheart bust with a plunging cutout and lace trim, along with thin straps at the shoulders and a strappy neckline.
At the back, there's an exposed zipper and another black crochet lace accent. The form-fitting top transitions into flared, flowy shorts at the bottom, and the whole piece is adorned with a blue, purple, pink, and white watercolor floral print.
I got the Carlotta romper from Selfie Leslie in size XS, which fits like a dream. The bodice has tons of stretch to it and hugs your figure for a slimming effect, and the flowy shorts mimic the flattering silhouette of a fit-and-flare dress.
My only issue is that scrunches up a bit at the top because I'm shorter, but the high-waist design, asymmetric shorts, and mini length are so perfect for elongating your legs and making you look taller. I'm sure this romper would look even better on taller girls, but even for me at 5'2"-5'3", this is such an amazing piece!
Although Selfie Leslie's clothes aren't the most inexpensive options out there, the pieces that I've gotten from them are definitely worth the price. The quality of this romper is flawless, and it's super comfortable. I especially love that the bust is padded, so you don't have to face the struggle of figuring out what to wear underneath.
On the other hand, I do wish that there was an underlayer to the shorts, since they're very loose and flowy and don't provide much coverage in the breeze, though I love their draped look and flared shape.
Style-wise, this black floral romper looks exactly as pictured on Selfie Leslie's site, aside from the placement of the floral print, which varies uniquely from piece to piece. It's a piece that you can simply slip on for instant style, and pairs well with all sorts of shoes and accessories! Channel boho-vacation vibes with golden layered bracelets, a floppy hat, and strappy sandals; add a touch of elegance with sleek jewelry, a simple watch, and your favorite heels; or tune up the edginess with black booties and a leather bracelet. There are so many styling options with this, and it honestly looks gorgeous even by itself!
I've had another amazing experience with Selfie Leslie and their flattering, feminine styles. Their black floral Carlotta romper really exceeded my expectations, especially in terms of quality. It's a piece with a style that's sure to turn heads, complimented by so much comfort that you could lounge around all day in it! The top part ended up being a bit too long on me since I'm shorter, but it fits perfectly otherwise, and is super flattering. The material is a great thickness for spring and summer, or even for layering in early autumn, and all the little details—the crochet lace cutouts, sweetheart neckline, and beautiful watercolor floral print—blend together for an unforgettable look.
