The Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta (MJCCA) is pleased to announce its Summer Day Camps line up for 2016, including expanded locations, programs, amenities, and of course, exciting, new themed Specialty Camps. The summer 2016 schedule includes two new locations: North Fulton at Congregation Dor Tamid and East Cobb at Temple Kol Emeth, in addition to the MJCCA’s Zaban Park location in Dunwoody and Emory University.
“We are thrilled to be able to bring the MJCCA’s stellar camp experience to other parts of metro Atlanta, making our camps even more accessible,” says Meryl Rindsberg, Director, MJCCA Day Camps.
The new North Fulton location on Dor Tamid’s 10-acre campus will offer Camp Isidore Alterman Traditional Camp, Specialty Camps such as Welcome to Hogwarts, Lego Robotics, and Creative Chefs, and Lynne & Howard Halpern Drama Camp. According to Rindsberg, campers at the North Fulton location will also enjoy weekly trips to the MJCCA’s Zaban Park campus and the nearby Standard Club, where they can swim, ride horses, and enjoy other amenities.
Temple Kol Emeth in East Cobb will be home to Lynne & Howard Halpern Drama Camp, along with Specialty Camps, including Legoland, Welcome to Hogwarts, Junk Art, and Science Discovery.
In addition to the new locations, the fun of camp can be extended through the MJCCA’s new Camp Late Nights program. According to Rindsberg, Camp Late Nights start when the camp day ends, giving campers even more time to spend hanging out with their camp friends.
Each Camp Late Night will feature a special theme—such as Wet and Wild, featuring Slip ‘N Slides, water balloons, and pool games, or Karaoke and Movie Night, where kids can sing along to their favorite songs and enjoy popcorn and a movie. Other Late Night options include Rec Games & Inflatables or Talent Show night. Dinner is included with each of these options, which will run from 4 – 8 p.m.
Also new for 2016, the beautiful lake at Zaban Park will be transformed into a mini amusement park with the addition of new bumper boats. Campers can bump, splash, and cruise around the lake as they cool off during the hot days of summer.
Online registration for Summer 2016 begins at 10 a.m., Sunday, January 10, for returning campers, and 10 a.m., Sunday, January 17, for new campers.
