Someone called to report a man dumping trash in a Child Street alley.
Police got a call about a baby chicken running loose around a Child Street property. The animal control officer showed up and picked it up.
A Bradford Street man told police that someone tried to break into his car.

Motorcycle riders were racing around Beth Avenue, a caller complained.
A fireworks complaint came in from Fern Drive.
Tuesday, July 30
A “suspicious” man spotted in a car on Water Street at 3:09 a.m. told police that he had just gotten out of work. He explained that his dad lives around the corner on Washington Street, and he was sitting in his car and waiting because he didn’t want to wake up his dad so early.
Items were stolen from a car parked on Frances Street. A similar call came in from Harris Avenue a short while later.
Jackie Sousa, 24, of Bristol, faces multiple charges after police were called to Jamiel’s Park on Market Street at 3:41 p.m. for a disturbance. When officers arrived they saw a car approach another parked car; the driver got out, approached a woman next to the parked car and struck her, police said. Police attempted to arrest Ms. Sousa, but officers said she struggled and appeared visibly intoxicated. She was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, BAC .1 to .15, simple assault or battery, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and vandalism.
Police got a complaint that a boat trailer was parked on the road for several days. An officer checked it out and noted that the trailer was parked there legally.
Fire crews were called out to Mt. Hope Bay for a boat taking on water.
Police were called to Market Street for people shouting vulgarities.
Barking dogs drew a police response to Child Street.
Wednesday, July 31
Jerilyn Authelet, 46, of 11 Aubin Ave., Apt. 2R, was cited for driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of her license, and charged with obstructing an officer in the execution of his duty.
Tools were stolen overnight from a Cherry Street garage.
Police assisted a constable with an eviction on Child Street.
The animal control officer was called out to Barton Avenue for a sick horse.
An unruly juvenile call came in from Arlington Avenue.
Police went to a Mason Street home for a barking dog. The homeowner told police he doesn’t own a dog.
Marine rescue crews went out off Rumstick Point for a 28-foot center console taking on water. Sea Tow and the Barrington Harbormaster towed the boat in.
Edward Girard, 26, of 22 Birch Swamp Road, Apt. 1, was arrested on a bench warrant issued from Sixth Division District Court in Providence.
A caller from Almy Avenue called police after finding a snake under his recycle bin. DEM was contacted and arrived shortly thereafter. It turned out to be a California Kingsnake, which are native to western United States but popular as pets. They are non-venomous but highly aggressive.
Police dispersed five from a Main Street address.
Joshua P. Murphy, 24, of East Providence, was arrested on a bench warrant issued from Sixth Division District Court.
Someone complained that two men were swearing and urinating against a fence on Child Street.
Ryan N. Jennings, 31, of Barrington, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, first offense, and operating a motorcycle without a license. Police pulled him over on Main Street at 11:15 p.m. after being alerted by Barrington police that he had crashed his motorcycle into the woods and then fled the scene.
Thursday, August 1
Police got a call about a possible drunk driver on Metacom Avenue.
A “suspicious” car pulled over in the park and ride on Franklin Street was OK; the driver had just pulled over to use the phone.
Police got a call about a man who may have been drunk walking south on Water Street.
Police got a call that neighbors on Davis Street were arguing over a basketball hoop. Turned out to be no argument, but an officer called in to ask if a hoop can be bolted to a utility pole.
An Arlington Avenue woman reported that her son threw things at her and her baby daughter.
Friday, August 2
A Ridgeway Drive woman complained that her father was causing a disturbance in their home.
Police arrested Christopher A. Durand, 39, of 236 Water St., second floor, on a warrant for domestic simple assault and domestic disorderly conduct. Police picked him up at his apartment.
A man came in to report a verbal altercation on the bike path.
A Laurel Lane resident reported fraudulent credit card charges.
A woman told police that two kids on Metacom Avenue were approached for a man who asked for money for drugs.
A woman told police that someone stole her wallet out of her shopping cart while she was shopping at a Metacom Avenue store.
Police got a complaint that there were people with a small campfire at the Warren Town Beach. Turns out they were cooking on a small grill.
An erratic driver was reported on Metacom Avenue.
Saturday, August 3
Police got a complaint that a man with a gray hooded sweatshirt on, wearing the hood up, was cutting through a yard on Arlington Avenue. It may just have been a coincidence, but Bill Belichik is in the area for New England Patriots training camp.
An Evie Drive woman reported that items were stolen from her car.
Two cars on Terrace Avenue were rummaged through overnight.
A Cole Street woman found a money clip and turned it in.
A Bridge Street woman told police that someone stole her bike from the East Bay Bike Path.
Police were called to Main Street for a landlord/tenant dispute.
Edward Brian Alexander, 49, of 35 Federal St., was charged with disorderly conduct and domestic simple assault and battery, after police were called to his home for a disturbance.
An erratic driver was reported on Main Street.
A Birch Swamp resident reported receiving threats.
Sunday, August 4
Mark A. Alves Jr., 24, of 7 Napolean St., was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and refusal to submit to a chemical test, after police pulled him over on Metacom Avenue at 1:06 a.m.
A “suspicious” person spotted on Overhill Road at 4:21 a.m. was just getting ready to go fishing.
Police got a complaint of speeding on Fern Drive.
Barrington police advised Warren that there were a large number of motorcycles headed south on County Road toward Warren.
Brian Silva, 24, of 201 Main St., was arrested on a bench warrant issued from Sixth Division District Court in Providence.
A purse was reported stolen from a car parked on Market Street.
Police were called to Sunset Court for a child custody matter.
Monday, August 5
A caller reported that there was a drunk woman in a car on Metacom Avenue. Police checked it out; the woman wasn’t driving, and there was no problem.
