(Posted Jul 20, 2016) – The Department of Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking a Chief of Trauma, Surgical Critical Care and General Surgery at the Associate Professor /Professor academic level. The division currently consists of eight Acute Care Surgeons, with the support of four Advanced Practice Providers. Applicants must be board eligible/certified in Surgery and have completed a Surgical Critical Care/Trauma fellowship. Responsibilities include a busy clinical practice in trauma, surgical critical care and general surgery, resident and medical student education, and involvement in injury prevention and outreach. Preference will be given to applicants with a demonstrated ability to design and carry out clinical or basic science research. Current expansion of our institutional, departmental and divisional clinical and basic science infrastructure provides an opportunity for suitable candidates to attain significant research achievements.
