It is now time to recognize those athletes from the area’s colleges and universities with our annual Earlaustinjr.com All-Area Colleges Team.

Here is a capsule look at the Earlaustinjr.com All-Area Colleges Men’s First Team

Alan Aboona (Washington University) – The 6’1″ sharpshooter earned All-University Athletic Association First Team honors after averaging 17.4 points, 2.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game. Aboona connected on 78 3-pointers and shot 41 percent from long distance. He also shot 78 percent from the free throw line in helping the Bears to a 24-3 record, the UAA title and a berth in the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Craig Anderson (Lindenwood-Belleville) – The 6’3″ junior guard led the Lynx to a historic season in 2014. He was a NAIA Third-Team All-American, becoming the first player in the school’s history to accomplish that feat. He averaged 21.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.8 steals in leading LU-Belleville to a 22-9 record and the school’s first ever appearance in the NAIA National Tournament in Kansas City. He was also a USCAA First Team All-American.

Chris Klimek (Washington University) - The 6’6″ senior forward was a NABC Third-Team All-American as well as a NABC and D3 Hoops All-Midwest Region selection after leading the Bears to a 24-3 record and a berth in the NCAA Division III Tournament. Klimek was also the University Athletic Association Player of the Year. He averaged 16.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and shot 61 percent from the field, which led the UAA.

Asa Toney (Maryville University) – The 6’3″ senior guard was a repeat First Team selection on the All Great Lakes Valley Conference Team. He averaged 15.2 points, 4.8 rebounds with 126 assists and 31 steals. Toney finished his stellar career with 1,503 points, 395 assists, 181 steals and 161 3-pointers, which is in the top five in career statistics at Maryville.

Tyler Wimbish (UMSL) - The 6’7″ junior forward was a First Team All Great Lakes Valley Conference selection after leading the Tritons in scoring and rebounding. Wimbish averaged 15.6 points, 5.4 rebounds and shot 60 percent from the field in leading the Tritons to a 16-12 record. Wimbish also led UMSL with 25 blocked shots.
