Holland FinTech, started in fall 2014, is building an Amsterdam based hub and platform for Fintech companies. Fintech is the collective term for financial innovations driven by (online) technology. Examples are crowdfunding, Bitcoin, mobile payments, big data and more. Our members range from startups to established companies in financial services, such as banks, insurance companies or pension funds, but also include investors and governmental bodies and other stakeholders in the Fintech ecosystem. We leverage our global network and knowledge to empower our members to deliver their innovative solutions worldwide.
We believe that it’s time for a change in the financial services industry and that technology can support that change with great solutions and increased competition by Fintech companies. Not only do these technologies empower people to take better control over their finances, but they also grow our economy. We work closely together with organizations like StartupDelta and Startup Amsterdam.

Profile
We are looking for someone with an academic background, who is internationally oriented and who is fluent in English (especially in writing) and Dutch. Speaking and writing in other languages is a pro.
Who you are…?
You have affinity with Finance, startups and venture capital;
You have a bachelor in a related study (i.e. Business administration / Economics or Finance);
You like to write;
You can work independently on assigned projects;
You have excellent analytical skills, and consistent attention for detail;
You know you way around the internet and social media;
You like to work in a small dynamic team;
You have the ability to plan and prioritize and take into account deadlines and resources;
You are able to manage multiple tasks with tight deadlines.

The position is for a minimum of 3 months and a maximum of 12 months, for 3-5 days per week. The internship compensation is according to market standard. Travel costs are covered.
Responsibilities
As a research consultant you’ll be responsible for:
Obtaining in-depth knowledge about financial innovation, digital technologies, regulations and venture capital;
Researching online news sources, social media feeds;
Developing conclusions on trends and reporting about them;
Writing blogs and social media messages about the latest Fintech news;
Creating setting up own research, surveys and questionnaires;
Executing research assignments for members;
Contacting Fintech companies to develop in depth understanding of their business;
Researching financial markets, new innovations, start-ups and businesses and writing clear analyses of the data you found;
Collecting, analysing and presenting data in a variety of formats to different audiences;
Making our knowledge base accessible for our team and our members;
Joining our events to meet the people who are making Fintech happen.
