Philippe Wojazer/AP World leaders were front and center for march in Paris after Charlie Hebdo massacre. But President Obama was nowhere in sight.
Where was President Obama on Sunday as 40 world leaders — including Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu — joined hearts and hands with French President Francois Hollande and millions of people in France in an anti-terrorism unity rallies? Not there was Obama.
After the Daily News, in particular, made a front-page point of the glaring omission, the White House admitted that, well, yeah, it should have had a more high-profile representative than U.S. Ambassador to France Jane Hartley.
But the logistics for the U.S. President to travel to Europe would have been a security nightmare, said White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest, and that alone would have hindered the march. And he’s right. It takes a lot more to send the President of the United States to Europe spontaneously than it does to send a European leader to another country in Europe.
But what was the reason the President didn’t at least send his go-to funeral guy, VP Joe Biden? He was just home watching football or whatever Joe Biden does when he isn’t meeting, greeting and speeching.
Attorney General Eric Holder was in Paris at the time, but he was too busy at, yes, a counterterrorism conference to join in the anti-terrorism rally.
Logistics and security weren’t a problem for the other world leaders who did proudly march in front of the marchers. OK, it was way in front — not right in front as the photos made it seem — but still they were there. But all of that aside, what’s getting lost in all the international #JeSuisCharlie fever is that the same time that 17 Parisians were being slaughtered in Paris by a handful of radical Islamist terrorists, 2,000 people were being slaughtered in Nigeria by untold numbers of radical Islamist terrorists, Boko Haram.
No celebrities, world leader or politicians took to the streets to demand justice for the 2,000 slain — the men, women, children and babies whose bloated, bloodied and burned bodies are littering the fields.
Now that the celebrities have found a new temporary social media slogan in Je Suis Charlie, it seems many have forgotten their passion for Nigeria and the #bringbackourgirls campaign of last spring in support of the 300 young Nigerian schoolgirls kidnapped by Boko Haram. Of those 300, perhaps as many as 219 are still unaccounted for.
Yes, we fault President Obama for not marching in unity with other world leaders against terrorism in Paris, but we cannot fault him for being a world leader in the war against terrorism, which counts for a lot more than marching — or catchy slogans.
LOSING OUT BY A HAIR
Who knew that hotel rooms were even more expensive than designer haircuts in this city?
Two of New York’s, er, mane stays, Garren Salon at the Sherry-Netherland and the Kenneth Salon at the Waldorf abruptly closed their doors on the same day.
Does the padlocked door at Garren mean that Madonna and Oprah, and his NYC clients who have first and last names are left as “locked” out as the shocked stylists? Maybe.
But Kenneth’s socialite clients, who consider good hair one of the major food groups will not be left to cut their hair with a Flowbee.
The stylists found a new home (already home to George Stephanopoulos and Melina Kanakaredes) at Miano-Viel Salon and Spa on 52nd. St. Luckily, Miano-Viel is not in a hotel — just across the street from one.XPUS/Xposure/AKM-GSI Kim Kardashian, stepping off plane at JFK in fur, drew ire of PETA.

PELTED BY PETA INSULTS
On Saturday, Kim Kardashian got off a plane at Kennedy Airport looking like she had just come off a successful yoga hunting trip in a giant fur coat and stretched to-the-outer-limits yoga pants and top. She got on another plane Sunday looking like she had just come off an equally successful cocktail party hunting trip in the same gigantic fur coat and a bizarrely inappropriate outfit — cleavage-baring, beaded bustier and skin-tight skirt.
Dan Mathews of PETA, says, “It’s sad that someone so beautiful chooses to create such an ugly legacy. Animals were electrocuted, gassed and beaten to death for Kim’s fashion whims. Her closet must be like a sadist’s version of Noah’s Ark.”
WORLD BEATERS
I hate to repeat myself, but the Golden Globes have big brass ones.
On Sunday night, millions tuned in to watch tens of people take home prizes given out by 93 freeloading freelancers of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, an organization made up of people who don’t actually seem to have jobs.
Former host Ricky Gervais once said, “The Golden Globes are to the Oscars what Kim Kardashian is to Kate Middleton — a bit louder, a bit trashier, a bit
drunker and more easily bought.”
He lost that gig.
WHAT A BIG BLUE MESS
The Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association under Patrick Lynch has gotten so out of control that at a meeting on Tuesday – instead of being accused of beating up perps – cops almost started beating up each other over whether the mayor should apologize to them. Lynch is the one who needs to start apologizing – to everyone.
THE RIGHT COURSE
School therapist with a heart Debra Fisher is suing the city. She was suspended in October for organizing a fund-raiser for a special-needs student and wants her back pay. No, she’s not suing like that subway construction worker who fell and broke his leg and has nightmares that he thinks are worth $ 50 million.
Fisher correctly wants the $ 5,000 in back pay and the disciplinary letter removed from her file. The Department of Education needs Fisher to give them reading and righting lessons.
