(Indianapolis, Ind. – Nov. 3, 2014) Duke Realty Corporation (Duke Realty), a leading nationwide REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust) specializing in the ownership, management and development of bulk industrial facilities, medical office properties and suburban office buildings, announces the promotions of four associates in conjunction with the formation of its new Indiana/Ohio Region.

Charlie Podell ‒ Senior Vice President, Indiana/Ohio Region

Charlie Podell has been promoted to Senior Vice President for Duke Realty’s Indiana and Ohio Region. In his new position, Podell also will be responsible for the company’s Ohio operations, which includes offices in Cincinnati and Columbus, in addition to its operations in Indianapolis, Indiana. Podell will oversee the leasing and management of Duke Realty’s industrial and office properties in these markets, which total more than 47.4 million square feet, as well as work to identify acquisition and development opportunities, new land positions and prospects for build-to-suit development.

Podell has overseen Duke Realty’s Indianapolis operations since 2006. Prior to that, he was involved in leasing Duke Realty’s Indiana industrial properties culminating with being named Vice President of Leasing in Indianapolis in 2001. He joined Duke Realty in 1989. A graduate of Indiana University, Podell has a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing. He is a Board Member of the Greater Indianapolis YMCA; Executive Member of Indy Partnership; and Executive Member of Conexus.

Mark Hosfeld ‒ Vice President, Leasing and Development, Indiana

Mark Hosfeld has been promoted to Vice President, Leasing and Development, for Duke Realty’s Indianapolis office. Hosfeld previously was Vice President, Industrial Leasing for Indianapolis. In addition to continuing his industrial leasing production role, he will now be responsible for all Indianapolis operations including leasing, development and marketing related to the company’s 23.7 million-square-foot office and industrial portfolio.

Hosfeld has his MBA from Xavier University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University. He joined Duke Realty in 1998 as a Leasing Representative in Cincinnati and, in 2000, moved to Duke Realty’s Indianapolis office. In 2007, Hosfeld was promoted to Vice President, Industrial Leasing, responsible for leasing its industrial portfolio and the development of three of the company’s largest industrial developments, AllPoints Midwest, AllPoints at Anson and Lebanon Business Park. Hosfeld is member of the Indiana Chapter of NAIOP.

Art Makris ‒ Vice President, Leasing and Development, Columbus

Art Makris has been promoted to Vice President, Leasing and Development, for Duke Realty’s Columbus office. Makris previously was Vice President, Leasing for Columbus. He will now be responsible for all Columbus operations including leasing, development, construction, marketing and property maintenance related to the company’s 11.5 million-square-foot industrial portfolio.

A graduate of Miami University, Makris has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and Accounting. He joined Duke Realty in 1997 as a Property Manager/Leasing Representative and, in 2005, moved to Duke Realty’s Columbus office. In 2006, Makris was promoted to Vice President, Industrial Leasing, responsible for leasing industrial properties as well as the development of two of the company’s largest industrial developments, Park 70 at West Jefferson and Rickenbacker Global Logistics Park. Makris is a licensed Ohio real estate broker and has earned a Certified Commercial Investment Member designation. He also is a member of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR).

Chris Yeakey ‒ Vice President, Regional Asset Manager, Indiana/Ohio Region

Chris Yeakey, a 17-year associate of Duke Realty, has been promoted to Vice President, Regional Asset Manager, expanding his asset management duties to include Duke Realty industrial and office properties in Cincinnati and Columbus, Ohio.

Yeakey has a bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety Education from Indiana State University. He has overseen management of the company’s assets in Indiana, the company’s largest market in terms of square footage, for the past eight years. His previous experience at Duke Realty includes serving as Construction Safety Director and Risk Manager. He is Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Indianapolis Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) and a Board Member of the Indianapolis Chapter of the Indiana Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
