Despite not earning the top spot at featherweight after his win over Dennis Siver, “Notorious” walked away with a better prize — a shot at the Featherweight strap.

The official Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) rankings have been updated following UFC Fight Night 59, which went down this past weekend (Sun., Jan., 18, 2015) from TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.

Conor McGregor lived up to the hype, yet again, obliterating Dennis Siver in the main event via technical knockout in round two (watch video highlights). That performance was good enough to catapult the fiery Irishman up to the No. 4 spot on the featherweight ladder.

The win was also good enough to earn him a shot at division kingpin Jose Aldo, which is set to go down at UFC 187 on May 24, 2015, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In the co-main event, Donald Cerrone squeaked by Ben Henderson in their 155-pound scrap (see it again here). Apparently, the performance wasn’t impressive enough to improve Cerrone’s standing, as he — along with “Smooth” — remained in the same positions prior to their trilogy match.

In other movement, UFC bantamweight champ T.J. Dillashaw surpassed Ronda Rosuey and Anderson Silva in the pound-for-pound rankings.

Here’s what the rest of the field looks like courtesy of UFC.com. Note: (+/- = movement in rankings, *NR = Not previously ranked).
