Hulu is dropping the price of its introductory streaming service as part of a new promotion. TV Predictions notes that Hulu has dropped the price of its basic tier from $8 a month to $6 per month in the hopes of better combating Netflix and Amazon. At $6 a month, Hulu's basic tier is now Hulu is now $3-4 a month cheaper than Netflix ($10 per month for basic streaming) and Amazon Prime Video ($9 a month standalone, or $99 per year as part of Amazon Prime). Jointly owned by Time Warner, Disney, Comcast, and Fox, Hulu is putting the finishing touches on a new live TV streaming service that's expected to launch either later this year, or in early 2017.
