Did you know that the body of St. Valentine is here in Dublin city??

Well part of it anyway.. Valentine’s Day is named after a Christian martyr called Valentine who became a saint in 496AD-roughly 500 years before Christ. His sainthood is celebrated on February 14.

Depending on who you believe the Blessed St John Dun Scotus Church Basilica of Santa Maria in Glasgow, Scotland, Roquemaure church in France, Church of St Francis in France, the Church of Praxedes in Italy and our own White Friar Church here in Dublin all lay claim to his relics!

Why not take a visit to White Friar Church on St. Valentine’s Day this year? On the day they take out their relics out of their shrine and display them on the altar..

And even if you cannot find the real St. Valentine we here at the DSE hope that you find love this Valentine’s Day!!
