Cassper Nyovest, real name Refiloe Phoolo and his team hosted the media at a press conference at the Ticketpro Dome where he’ll be staging his #FillUpTheDome concert of October 31.

On what the concept is about, the Doc Shebeleza hit-maker said that it’s about inspiring kids. “It’s about inspiring that young African kid,” said the rapper.

Though the idea started over a braai between Cassper and his friends, the idea stands on the verge of being a great feat for South African hip-hop and South African music at large.

Joined at the front by Riky Rick, Major League, Anatii and Black Motion (absent), supporting acts for the concert, Nyovest says he considers them as family.

Any act to perform on the night will be announced but will not be advertised. “#FillUpTheDome is about Cassper,” the rapper said.

Boss Zonke believes that it’s long overdue that Mzansi artists do shows of this nature for themselves. “I’m also planning to do my own shows next year,” Ricky Rick said.

Topics as varied as his music, sponsors, relationship, beef with AKA and money were part of the day’s proceedings.

With confidence, the “new-age Doc Shebeleza” considers himself number 1 in SA hip-hop currently and sees AKA as number 2.

Of their beef, he says it sharpens their pen game and makes them put out good music. Even at their peak, Cassper considers himself the best of the two. Even when his team didn’t want him to respond to #Composure, Nyovest says he had to. “It was more personal. It got to me, for the first time in my career.”

Oh, if you were hoping that Cassper would bring out AKA on the 31st, khohlwa!

Asked about how he feels when he looks at the ticket sales, Cassper expressed gratitude to everyone who bought a ticket. “If it wasn’t for the fans, none of this would be possible,” he said.

Cassper said that his team stands to make a loss from the concert, considering that the whole show will cost R4.8million and income from tickets will be R3.2million.

The concert will coincide with the release of his 2nd studio album, Refiloe, which he hopes will go platinum in a month.

BP and AG Mobile have partnered with Cassper for his concert.

What’s next after #FillUpTheDome? Cassper says he won’t be participating in many shows as he and the team will be readying themselves to take this experience over South Africa. He’ll also be looking at more international performances.

And in case tickets don’t sell out, the Tsibip hit-maker has this to say:

We’ve already sold more Tickets than Chris brown’s last show here. We’ve already won baby. It’s not the same. https://t.co/vazyiHt7b5
