'Tis the season, my beauties! Just about every brand you’ve ever heard of is coming out with one (or twelve) bargain sets, perfect for gifting to your best friends or to yourself! These sets are meant to be convenient and cute, as well as a huge value for what you’re getting. I’ve been shopping around since the first inkling of the holiday season began, and here is my list of my personal favorite gift sets! From makeup to skincare, these collections will be sure to please every beauty lover on your shopping list, and are such a bargain you’ll be buying one for yourself as well! Keeping all price points in mind, I tried to group similar items together for easier splurge/save navigation. Happy shopping!
Too Faced A Few of My Favorite Things Collection - $54
This beautiful, cheerful book full of goodies contains 20 buttery, gorgeous eyeshadows, two blushes, two bronzers, a mini Better Than Sex mascara, and a full sized Lip Injection Color Bomb plumping lipstick in a limited edition shade.
A Few of My Favorite Things is my absolute FAVORITE thing this holiday season! I was so excited when it came out. Just about all of Too Faced’s holiday stuff is lovely, but this is such an awesome VALUE I can’t even stand it! I’ve been using it just about every day since I got it. The eyeshadows are incredibly high quality, the two blushes are just gorgeous, and the bronzers - Chocolate Soleil and Sun Bunny - are damn near full sized, and just happen to be two of my favorite bronzers, ever. The Better Than Sex mascara is a little flakey but makes my lashes look so lush and sexy, and my love/hate relationship with the extreme plumping of the Lip Injection Color Bombs continues with this gorgeous pinky-nude lip color. Compared to all of the other holiday sets you’d find at Sephora or Ulta, this contains the most product for the least amount of money, and is the highest quality. Plus it makes me sing songs from The Sound of Music every morning when I use it! Find it in stores or online here!
Tarte The Tarte of Giving Collector Set - $59
This incredible bag full of goodies contains just about everything a makeup lover would ever need. 16 eyeshadows with four “liner” shades, 8 mini maracuja lip glosses, a full sized amazonian clay blush, mini mascara, mini cheek stain, and small sizes of the popular maracuja oil and an eye cream. Best of all it comes in a plush, royal purple case that holds everything within easy, organized reach!
I love how much comes in this gift set - come on, eight lip glosses?! I love Tarte’s cheek products and their mascara as well, so having those included is a serious bonus. The eyeshadows are all really nice colors, leaning on the cool side, but they are slightly powdery in comparison to, say, the Too Faced set. You’re getting a TON of product in this kit for an incredibly reasonable amount of money (considering Urban Decay’s Vice 2 palette, which is just eyeshadow, is the same price). Lorac Pro Rockin’ Red Hot Set - $48
This is a must-have kit for eyeshadow artists. It contains the now-iconic Pro palette (16 AMAZING neutral eyeshadows, 8 matte & 8 shimmer), a full sized Pro mascara, a full sized Pro liquid eyeliner, and a mini eye primer.
Considering the Lorac Pro palette is my FAVORITE neutral eye palette, outdoing even the infamous Nakeds, this just HAD to be on my Best Sets list! The palette alone is $42, so for only six more dollars you’re getting an additional $50 worth of product. The mascara provides big, lush lashes and the liner is impeccable, with a fine brush and inky black formula that lasts all day. This is the perfect set for people with a serious love for eye makeup, and this palette is sure to be a new favorite. Find this at Sephora!
NYX Soho Glam Collection - $30
This budget-friendly complete makeup kit isn’t necessarily a holiday item, but it would make such a great gift for a makeup lover! It contains a whopping 52 eyeshadows, 4 cheek colors, 8 lip colors, two full-sized removable lip glosses and a lip liner.
Perfect for beginners or anyone looking to expand their makeup collection, this box has it all. I love NYX products because they have great color payoff, especially for the price. The eyeshadows in this are lovely - a great mix of neutrals and jewel-toned brights! I love the idea of removable lip glosses that you can throw in your bag whenever you want, and the blushes in this are really pretty and very wearable. The case collapses and is very storage and travel friendly, so you don’t have an enormous box taking up space on your vanity. You can find this at Ulta or on NYX’s website!
BH Cosmetics 66 Color Lipgloss Palette - $10
As the name suggests, this sleek, easily stored palette contains 66 super-shiny lip colors in just about every color imaginable, from nude to burgundy to turquoise (yes, turquoise).
For a lipcolor lover, this is the ultimate gift - all of the colors you could ever want, without having to find a place to store 66 tubes of lipstick. This will bring out the inner artist in anyone! Stila Color Me Glossy Lip Glaze Set - $28
Of the many lip gloss collections released this year, I think that this one is one of the best values - 9 cult-favorite lip glazes in various shades.
When you consider the fact that just one of these glosses costs $22 regularly, you start to understand the value of this set. I also love that they are packaged in trios - reds, pinks, and nudes… so you could gift these as one huge set, or break them apart and create three separate stocking stuffers! Sephora Fragrance Samplers - $22-$75
There are a great variety of these samplers out at Sephora stores, and all of them are great deals. Each kit, whether it is for rollerballs or full sized bottles of fragrance, men or women, contains several mini sampler bottles of each fragrance, a bag and a voucher for a full sized of whichever fragrance the recipient likes best! Takes so much guesswork out of gifting and these are something even the pickiest people on your list will love.
Philosophy The Cookie Exchange Set - $24
Philosophy is known for their mouthwatering scents and their mass variety of holiday gift sets - this is my favorite in both categories. It contains a hand lotion, a shower gel and a lipgloss, all in different yet complimenting scents.
This is mainly my favorite of the Philosophy kits because of the lotion. The scent is called “Sweet Creamy Frosting” and every time I smell it I instantly become hungry, it is so deliciously scented! The lipgloss is actually very nice - it’s a pretty pink color with a great flavor, and the iconic “Christmas Cookie” shower gel scent is divine. You can get this at Sephora or Philosophy’s website.
The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle Set - $18
This delightfully sweet-smelling set includes four essential body products - shower gel, body butter, body scrub and soap bar (it’s heart shaped!)
Target recently began selling The Body Shop and is now stocked full of adorable holiday-appropriate body sets at a really great price point. Their products are all top of the line and vegan friendly, so this warm and cheery set is perfect for just about anyone on your list, or even yourself!
Formula X The Twenty-Two Set - $55
This set contains just about everything a nail-lover would ever want. The Formula X line is brand new and seriously top of the line - one coat is all you need! This set contains mini bottles of some of their most popular colors in various shades, textures and sheens. This set also includes some of their super-cool top coats to give every color a cool new effect. Find it at Sephora!
ELF 14 Piece Nail Polish Cube - $10
These awesome cubes are seriously affordable and are the perfect gift for any beauty lover. Available in 4 different varieties (brights, everyday, party, and jewel tones) you’re sure to find the perfect collection.
