Clients recently came in to the gallery where I work and said they just bought an additional home in Las Vegas because they participate in so many poker tournaments. !!!!!!!! Talk about SERIOUS poker players! YEESH. So now these folks are in the process of buying furniture and art to decorate their swanky new poker den. !!!!!!!!!

After talking with these clients, I started searching around for game room inspiration on Pinterest, and found these interesting examples...

I currently live in a one-bedroom duplex, so my "game room" is my dining room table.  Har.

I am not a huge gamer, but it would be so awesome to have a space in the home to dedicate to game-related things -- card games, board games, tv, movies, entertainment, books, puzzles, etc.

I am usually not so interested in card games -- whenever I watch a movie that includes a poker game, I TUNE OUT because I have no idea how to play the game. I guess I should learn how to play already so that I can be a "fully functioning adult" (lol), and be able to play more than slot machines when in Las Vegas.  ;)

Truth be told, I suffer from "disinterested face" much of the time in life, so maybe I could be a decent poker player. I am sure that knowing when it is best to quit a poker game is key, if my experience with slot machines is any indication.  UGH.  In my limited experience with gambling, the money sure rolls out a lot faster than it rolls in. Then again, the excitement lies in the hope that you MIGHT win, even if odds are stacked against you.

Anyway!  If you had a game room, what would you want to include in it?  Do you have any favorite games? [I prefer games that utilize brains and/or luck/chance over games that require physical prowess! I have ZERO athletic capability, and I cannot stand video games.  I am terrible at bowling and I don't even want to try to shoot pool.  This klutz knows her limitations!  And my BIG NERD CONFESSION: my favorite game of all -- the only game that I truly love -- is SCRABBLE.  I lovelovelovelovelove SCRABBLE, and I will take on any challenger at any time!] I think it would be nice to have a game room that included a little something for everyone!
