We all know that voting is an important aspect of being part of democracy and that it’s a right everyone should take advantage of. However, voting isn’t the only way you can be involved in the upcoming presidential election.

Attend Debates – If you have a cause that you’re passionate about, don’t assume that it will be addressed in the debates. The only way you can be assured that the matter will come up is if you attend one of the town hall style debates and mention it yourself. Even if you can’t get to one of the presidential debate locations, you should make an effort to attend one of the local debates being held for the individuals running for state and local office.

Donate and Help Collect Additional Donations – If there’s a candidate that you’re particularly passionate about, you should donate to their election fund. Small donations of $5 dollars or less are every bit as important as the larger ones. A recent study showed that the average campaign donation was less than $50.00. In addition to donating money yourself, you can also collect donations from others.

Go to Rallies – If you want to support a particular candidate, get yourself to a few rallies. Rallies are a great place to show your support and to meet people who share your political viewpoints and who will help you find additional ways you can be involved in the upcoming presidential election.

Volunteer – It doesn’t matter if you volunteer and help out a specific campaign, or you sign up with your township hall to help handle things on Election Day, volunteering is an important aspect of the presidential election and something that doesn’t cost you anything but time.
