This is the second year for the Disabled Access Day initiative which will be taking place on 12th March across the UK.
The idea is that it gives venues an opportunity to talk to disabled visitors about how they can improve access, and gives disabled visitors the opportunity to visit somewhere new and find out how accessible it is.
It also raises the profile of accessibility, which is something we are especially keen on in the music sector as many venues, recording spaces etc are still fairly inaccessible.
There are events all over the country and we will be supporting an event at Colston Hall with the local Music Education Hub, Bristol Plays Music.

As part of Disabled Access Day, Colston Hall and Bristol Plays Music invite you to come and find out about the service Colston Hall offers to patrons who have additional accessibility requirements.
The venue will also be unveiling details of their new Accessible Membership Scheme, after which you will have the opportunity to be one of the first to sign up.
You will also be able to explore the plans for this historic building’s redevelopment, and how Bristol’s home of music will be more accessible than ever before.
After a presentation about the exciting new plans, Colston Hall would like to hear your thoughts and opinions on what would make your visit to the venue more enjoyable and easier, over a cup of tea and a piece of cake.
Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to attend an open rehearsal with Bristol Choral Society in the main auditorium as they prepare for their concert that evening.
