A selection of the pre-made items available at the new Maynards.

Beginning on Monday, November 4, Maynards Kitchen will close for lunch. Moving forward, Maynards Kitchen will be open at 3pm Monday through Saturday for happy hour and dinner; and at 9am on Sundays for brunch. Maynards Kitchen will still take reservations for special and private events during the day (or for lunch) upon request.

The change in hours comes as the new Maynards Market (next to the restaurant) opens to the public as a brand new concept with great new options for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

While the Market was previously a mostly retail store carrying grab and go foods, goods and gifts from local vendors, it has been transformed into a fast-casual café concept. Aisles and shelving have been replaced with a rectangular walk-up counter in the center of the room with different “stations” on every side. The north side of the counter features a zinc bar and stools for casual beer and wine service.  More seating has been added, and the Wi-Fi improved, making the new Market a great place to grab food on the go or linger for a bit.

With the renovation and structural changes, food is the focal point in the revamped space which offers “gourmet market cuisine.”

All items on the menu are $10 or under.

“The new Market offers the same quality and attention to detail as the restaurant, including mostly locally sourced or homemade ingredients. The best part about it all is that it’s incredibly affordable – nothing is priced over $10,” said Chef Addam Buzzalini.

Chef Addam and his team have created a Market menu that includes homemade pastries, coffee drinks, original sandwiches and Panini, homemade soups, pizzettes, and artisan meats, cheeses and deli salads. A variety of hearty “Chef-made” meals can be enjoyed on the spot or taken to-go and heated at home.

The new Maynards Market also has the pleasure of introducing Stumptown Cold Brew to Tucson as one of only two locations in Arizona that serves the acclaimed coffee that comes in stylish dark amber “stubbies.”

The Market will also feature hand-scooped Isabella’s Ice Cream, and the wine shop remains intact.

Menu Highlights:

Coffee Drinks
A full assortment of coffee house classics (made from local roasters Caffe Lucce) like cappuccino, macchiato, Americano, and Maynards Signature Mocha, using premium Mexican chocolate, complement breakfast items and desserts.

A wide variety of pastries and baked goods are available.

Pastries and Sweets
Pain au Chocolate, Giant Cinnamon Buns, and Sea Salt Caramel Muffins (among other offerings) are baked fresh for breakfast daily. Cheesecake in a Jar, Double Chocolate Brownies, and select Cup Café pies du jour will be on hand to satisfy any sweet tooth.

Breakfast – Beginning at 7am, Monday – Saturday

Maynards chefs tested a homemade biscuit recipe all summer, which resulted in an epic Cheddar Biscuit Sandwich with a sunny egg, white cheddar cheese, and choice of homemade sausage, applewood bacon or country ham.  Other breakfast items include: Croque Monsieur, breakfast burritos, breakfast standards (yogurt, steel cut oats, bagels) and cold cereal that can be topped with milk, or, for the more indulgent, Isabella’s Ice Cream!

Sandwiches/Panini – Beginning at 11am daily

The beloved Cubano sandwich that has gained a cult following among the lunch regulars at the Kitchen will be a mainstay of the new Market menu. Newly introduced sandwiches include the Beef Storm – braised beef short rib, raclette cheese, pickled red onion on rosemary-sea salt bread ($9); Morning Calm – beer braised corned beef with homemade smoked kimchi and hot Korean mustard on toasted rye ($8); Portabello – grilled and chilled mushroom, goat cheese, basil pesto sauce, arugula, cucumber and pickled onion on a sprouted grain bun ($7), and many more.

Chef Made Meals – Beginning at 11am daily

Chef-made meals are made in advance and perfect to pick-up and enjoy a hot dinner at home.  Pair an entrée, like the French-roasted Half Chicken ($9), Macaroni and Cheese ($6) or the daily special with a choice side, like Savory Bread Pudding ($4) or Roasted Brussels Sprouts and Grapes ($4); and dinner is done!  The Family Meal feeds four and includes one whole chicken, one daily special, two salads and two sides for $40.

Maynards Market will be open daily from 7am – 8pm.  For more details and full menu, visit the newly redesigned website.
