Positive thinking will help you achieve World Championship results!
Believing in yourself is perhaps the most powerful motivational tool known to man.
Our minds are a very powerful thing. If we break through our own fears and doubts—we have the ability to break through any limits thrown our way—unlock our potential and accomplish feats we never dreamed possible.
We see and hear about this all day, every day. People walk on hot coals. They sit in freezing water and even overcome life-threating illness. We must open our eyes—and minds—to this kind of positive thinking and realize that anything is possible, if we believe in ourselves and put our minds to it.
Enter Lee Oren a 29-year-old from New York City. He has struggled with weight loss most of his life and he has a personal goal to lose 80 pounds. More importantly, he wants to be more confident, build more strength, reduce his body fat and look and feel FIT!
Lee Oren is on his way to achieving his goals with the help of DOWNTOWN’S Fitness Editor, Kirk Myers.
He WILL accomplish this, I have no doubt. I believe in him and I know he will do this. Lee has the same determination and he will gain momentum throughout this process. I have chosen to write about Lee to show DOWNTOWN’s readers how to believe in a goal and achieve success.
Lee and I are both football fans so we are looking at his long-term goal like the road to winning the Super Bowl. This will be a year-long is a year process. Let’s face it, you can’t win the Superbowl until you play the whole season. You HAVE to practice hard every day and continue to improve to grab the big prize at the end of the year.
We both understand that and are focusing our game plan accordingly.
In Lee’s season there are 20 games (16 regular season games and 4 playoff games). For us, each “game” is a goal that we set on a particular day.
We started our pre-season warmups on June 3rd.
Our first week of serious action was Friday June. 28th Lee had a wedding to go to and had some target goals. Here are our stats.
Lee’s Preseason Stats
Push-ups 0
Plank 20 seconds
Weight 283
Week 1: Lee vs. The Wedding

Mission accomplished!
Goal: Weight 269

Week 1 Victory!!!! Lee surpassed on two of his three key goals and came razor close on the third. He is a winner, by any definition.
This will be the first test of many for Lee…who has shown me that he’s more than up to the task! Throughout the season we will play 20 games. It is unlikely we will go undefeated and win each game or accomplish every goal on our set timetable. However if we can go 13 and 3, we’ll take home field advantage and momentum going into the playoffs!
We WILL win the Super Bowl and Lee will lose 80 pounds and feel on top of the world! Check in soon to see his progress!
