The Sky Is The Limit at the first Marketing Institute event of 2015

The first Marketing Institute of Ireland (MII) Cork event of 2015, in association with Cork Chamber, is set to be a sell-out as Ryanair’s Chief Marketing Officer Kenny Jacobs takes to the podium with his insights on the Ryanair customer transformation journey.

The event which is sponsored by Bank of Ireland and run in association with Cork Chamber takes place on Wednesday 21st January 2015 at 5.30 pm in the Clarion Hotel Cork.

Leaders from Cork’s marketing community and the wider business community will come together to hear Mr. Jacobs share his thoughts on what has been a dramatic shift in perspective with regard to the role of the customer and the importance of continuous customer intelligence gathering as a key business driver.

It is evident from Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary’s recent statement “it’s not enough to be the cheapest anymore. We need to be the cheapest, the best and the friendliest,” that Ryanair is changing the way that it does business.  With that, Mr. Jacobs will provide insights of the Ryanair customer transformation journey.

Kenny Jacobs is a Corkonian with a wealth of experience working with international brands in various sales and marketing roles and has spent most of his career in retail, with Tesco PLC as marketing director in Tesco Ireland and brand director for Tesco UK.  Prior to that he worked for German retailer Metro Group GmbH in various roles in marketing and IT in Europe and Asia.

At this MII Cork event, he will share his thoughts on what has been a dramatic shift in perspective with regard to the role of the customer and the importance of continuous customer intelligence gathering as a key business driver.

“Ryanair truly believes that the customer must be placed front and centre of the business and is the primary source of Ryanair’s enhanced value proposition to ensure customers continue to actively choose Ryanair,” Mr. Jacobs tells us.

“I look forward to presenting to the Cork business and marketing community on this and how customer communication is a 24/7 job which requires an innovative mindset and a dedication to continuous improvement, reflected in Ryanair’s “Always getting better Programme”.  My aim is to share my thoughts on the challenges faced day to day in Ryanair’s relentless pursuit of customer understanding and engagement and how transitioning the brand values of Ryanair has led to the transformation of Europe’s biggest carrier,” he adds.

Chairman of the Marketing Institute of Ireland (Cork), Audrey Burke-McCarthy comments “we are looking forward to hearing how Kenny Jacobs and his team at Ryanair have grown customer engagement and I am sure that these insights and practical tips can be utilised in all of our businesses.  Tickets will no doubt sell out fast and we expect a huge turnout at The Clarion on the night.”
