The power rankings for the Big 12 Conference men’s basketball teams each and every week. The rankings are starting to get harder to pick because we have so many good Big 12 teams. It’ll be easier when they start beating each other up in conference play.

#1 Oklahoma State (11-1)
The Cowboys had a nice win against #20 Colorado on Saturday 78-73 which keeps them at #1 in the Big 12 power rankings. Marcus Smart had 18 points, 3 assists, and 1 steal. Earlier in the week on Tuesday they beat Delaware State with ease 75-43. Markel Brown and Le’Bryan Nash each had 14 points. No games this week.
#2 Iowa State (9-0)
The Cyclones are trying to stay undefeated on the season and win the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic tourney this week. ISU already knocked off George Mason 79-67, and next play Akron (6-2). They can play in the championship game on Christmas Day if they win today.
#3 Baylor (8-1)
The Bears are lucky to stay at #3 in this week’s power rankings as their game on Wednesday against Northwestern State went to OT in Waco. Baylor escaped with a 91-84 win that needed four of their starters to score in double figures, and two have double-doubles to come out on top. Last night Baylor took out some frustration from the NWSU game on Southern by winning 81-56. Isaiah Austin had 14 points, 10 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 blocks. No games this week.
#4 Kansas (8-3)
The Jayhawks crushed Georgetown 86-64 on Saturday. Andrew Wiggins had a tough shooting night going 3-10 from the floor with 12 points, 4 assists, 3 steals, and 1 block. The KU team is still good enough to pull off an easy win against any team even with an off night from Wiggins. No games this week.
#5 Texas (10-2)
The Longhorns pulled off a spectacular upset in Chapel Hill beating #14 North Carolina 86-83 on Wednesday. Jonathan Holmes had a double-double while three other teammates had over 12 points apiece. The excitement of the upset couldn’t overflow into the game against #5 Michigan State in Austin. UT lost to the Spartans 92-78. No games this week.
#6 Oklahoma (11-1)
The Sooners are quietly having an excellent season. They beat Texas A&M on Saturday 64-52 in the Toyota Center (Houston) with 20 points from stud freshman guard Jordan Woodard. No games this week.
#7 Kansas State (8-3)
The Wildcats slowly are lifting themselves out of the cellar of the Big 12 teams with an incredible upset over #21 Gonzaga 72-62. It took a full team effort but was by far the best quality win for KSU this season. Four players scored in double figures. They next play Tulane (7-6) in the Brooklyn Hoops Winter Festival this Saturday.
#8 West Virginia (7-5)
The Mountaineers lost a close contest to a good Purdue team 73-70. Eron Harris had 24 points, but it wasn’t enough to sneak past the Boilermakers. WVU next play William & Mary (6-4) on Sunday.
#9 Texas Tech (7-5)
The Red Raiders lost a heartbreaker to LSU 71-69 on Wednesday night. It was a bitter ending to a great game. The Arizona State game on Saturday was tougher to watch as ASU handled Tech throughout most of it and won 76-62. No games this week.
#10 TCU (8-3)
The Horned Frogs kept their win streak alive with a third and fourth win in a row against Grambling and Tulsa. TCU beat Grambling on Thursday 98-75 with 27 points from Kyan Anderson. He then scored 25 points in the win against Tulsa on Saturday. Next game is on Sunday against Texas Southern (4-7).
