What if you could park, go for a stroll all across Rochester, NY, and then ask your car to come pick you up? What if you could catch up on light reading in a traffic jam without losing your place in line? What if you could catch that perfect sunset shot, without needing to pull over to the side of the road?
Kia thinks it’s all possible.
Planning to invest $2 million over the course of a few years into their sub-brand DriveWise technology, Kia estimates that many models in its new vehicle lineup will be road-ready for self-driving in urban and highway settings by the year 2030.
The first model to undergo the autonomous transition is expected to be the Kia Soul EV, since much of its driving takes place in city areas already; perfect for testing. Check out the video below to see just what a self-driving Kia could look like, and what kind of situations it could excel in.
