I’ve covered several versions of Darth Macho here on Doomkick already. I even named the painted figure my favorite toy of 2013 but apparently Kaboom Toys isn’t done with the shirtless Sith Lord just yet. I’ve got another great Darth Macho with an altered cape and this time it’s in a wonderful crystal blue that reminds me so much of Crystar. I don’t know if that was intentional or not but I love it. He also looks great paired with my blue Wampa (also from Kaboom Toys).

This is the same mold as the standard and Blood Red Darth Macho(s) only this one is done in a great looking clear blue. I already mentioned that it reminds me very much of Crystar and that is a plus in my book. I love the mold, the mashup between the vintage Kenner Darth Vader figure and the Tonka Steel Monsters is seamless and looks as if it was intentionally designed this way from the beginning.

This version of Darth Macho does have a few new tricks besides his cool blue color. He features a new cape this time around. Instead of a vintage style vinyl cape this DM has a resin cape that is made to look like it is flowing in the wind. I do love the classic look of the vinyl cape but this is great as well and really helps mix things up with this being my third Darth Macho.

The other thing new to this figure is he has articulation this time around. There is one point, a shoulder swivel, on the lightsaber arm. This is another great new addition that can break up the display and helps this one stand out amongst his brothers. He can finally raise his lightsaber proudly.

I don’t want to seem like a broken record but Darth Macho is just so much fun. This clear blue version was part of a very limited run (of 2 I believe) but the standard painted edition which is my overall favorite is still available in the Kaboom Store.

Don’t forget to check out the reviews on the other versions of Darth Macho. There’s the fully painted version and the Blood Red one-off!
