Big companies buy aftermarket domain names.

Once again, I’m a bit behind with end user domain names sales reports due to traveling for NamesCon last week. Here are the end user domain sales I found on Sedo’s sales list it sent out last week.

You can view previous reports here.

JCT.com $98,000 – Investments company Junction Investments, Inc. JCT is an abbreviation for “Junction.”

JLL.pt $5,000 – Commercial real estate firm Jones Lang LaSalle bought its abbreviation in the Portugal ccTLD.

BuzzFeed.de EUR 2,772 – “News” site BuzzFeed.

Barker.co.uk GBP 2,399 – an individual whose last name is Barker.

ABD.co.uk GBP 2,250 – Autobulbs Direct, seller of car headlight bulbs. It uses the much longer domain AutobulbsDirect.co.uk.

Swell.co.uk GBP 1,200 – Swell Hair Ltd, which makes shampoos and conditioners. Its web address is the longer SwellHair.co.uk.

Desperados.com $33,500 – a CSC client.

VIPSoftware.com $4,995 – VerifIP, a knowledge sharing application provider.

Enterprises.mx $1,999 – Enterprise Rent A Car.

BigBen.com $50,000 – Kugo, seller of specialty products. I suspect this is for a new brand line.

29cm.com EUR 3,000 – The owner of 29cm.co.kr, which appears to be some sort of ecommerce site.

BillMobile.com EUR 3,000 – BillMobile.com – a mobile payments company.

Klamm.net EUR 1,000 – Klamm.de, which is some sort of portal. They don’t own the .com, which is owned by someone whose last name is Klamm.

Helio.co.kr $2,300 – mobile phone company Sprint. Helio is the brand name of a phone.

FlexDrive.com $5,000 – Media company Cox Enterprises. I’m not sure what the company wants to do with this domain.

1block.com $1,000 – Nixle, a company that sends public safety alert text messages. They also own OneBlock.com. The landing page at this domain suggests it will be some sort of neighborhood social network.

Lynda.in $5,500 – Lynda.com, an online video tutorials and training site.

Rackspace.mobi $1,000 – cloud hosting company Rackspace.

SmartCatLitter.com $1,120 – Milwaukee diversified products company GHL International.

BullitProof.com $1,000 – Canadian real estate investment firm BullitProof, which already owns BullitProof.ca. This domain was sold through the GoDaddy partnership.

GetSync.com $1,900 – BitTorrent, for its new Sync beta.

ExitPlan.net $2,800 – Quest Business Brokers, which specializes in selling accounting practices. They recently bought ExitPlan.com for $10,000.

BillPro.com $20,000- Australian company ISPBilling Pty Ltd

LLC.biz $23,520 – this one is registered to someone in Florida but it’s forwarding to LLC.de. I’m shocked at this sales price given the number of new TLDs coming online. I get that “LLC” and “biz” go together, but soon there will be many good alternatives.
