Enjoying an afternoon tea has been a staple in British culture for centuries, and in order to celebrate #AfternoonTeaWeek, London establishments have taken it upon themselves to take the concept of the traditional afternoon tea to the next level. We have selected four, of what we consider, to be the top places to enjoy England’s favourite pass time.
St. James’ Court, A Taj Hotel, London
As of 1st June, Taj Hotels and Resorts London have launched a new Jungle Book Afternoon Tea. The exotic inspired tea invies guests to embark on a culinary journey, with delicacies inspired by the flavours of Madya Pradesh, the setting at the heart of the classic story. Reflecting the loveable bear’s fondness for honey, the Baloo’s Himalayan Honey Macaroons take guests far and beyond the realm of the Bare Necessities, whilst the Shere Khan’s Masala Chai Éclairis of course derived from the story’s infamous villain. The Bandar Log Spiced Banoffie with Saffron Cream takes its name from the Bandar Log monkey tribe, headed by King Luis who tries to lure young Mowgli with the promise of the sweet life of swinging through the trees.
