Of course I decided to mess with my hair once again and I'm actually hoping for the last time this year, yeah promises promises it's only March but honestly I've not got the time to continuously do my hair and do the intensive recovery it needs afterwards, so lets hope I don't itch to go platinum but I think if I do, professional time so, here's a mini review on what the hair is stripped of after dye jobs - Protein.

When I decided to make my own protein conditioner I just did what I usually do and added some extra protein because my hair is seriously lacking in that to the point my ends were not curly at all it might look like an overload but believe me my hair was grateful.

Ingredients:
3 egg yolks
2 tbs Mayonnaise
2 tbs Honey
1 tbs Jamaican Black Castor Oil
3 tbs of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
2 tsp Vitamin E
2 tsp Grapeseed Oil
6 drops of Rosemary Essential Oil

• Mayonnaise nourish, moisturise, restore the healthy pH balance and prevents breakage
• EVOO nourish, condition and improve the strength and elasticity also has Vitamin E & Vitamin A within.
• Honey softens and smooths, promotes hair growth and shine.
• Egg Whites removes unwanted oils.
• Egg yolks moisturise dry, brittle hair.
• Rosemary Essential Oil prevent hair loss.
• Grapeseed Oil high in linoleic acid, good against moisture loss.
• Jamaican Black Castor Oil dry brittle hair, hair breakages, dandruff, dry itchy scalp, eczema, thinning hair, alopecia, bald spots it will rapidly increase hair growth.

I put these all in a bowl and whisked them together to get a nice consistency before heating it in the microwave for about 5 - 10 seconds, I gave it a little stir around and applied it onto my 4 sections already parted and pinned up. Put a shower cap on and sat under the hooded dryer for about an hour. You might want to put some type of material headband around your head too, as the mixture will seep and run down the face.

While I was sitting with my soft hood on and was just reading product ingredients, my Jamaican Black Castor Oil Protein Conditioner was up next (don't ask why I didn't use it) & I started to strip off the barcode Amazon inconveniently placed over the ingredients, surprisingly the ingredients in this wasn't much different from the one I had whisked up: Mayonnaise, Jamaican Black Castor Oil, Vitamin E, Avocado Oil, Mustard Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Lavender, Pimento Oil.

Every time my nan sees my JBCO she keeps saying to me that's not black castor oil and when her aunt came over last September from Jamaica she insisted she will get me some 'real castor oil' the reason they are saying this is because authentic Jamaican Black Castor Oil is dark brown in colour and will also have the traditional burnt smell but that's not to say this castor oil isn't just as good, I suppose it's more marketable. I use this either weekly or every 2 weeks, I don't find it overbearing for my hair and is good for a regular protein treatment.

This protein conditioner can be amended to suit your hairs needs at home or purchased off Amazon. This can be for all hair types just make sure you don't overload it with protein especially if it doesn't need it. When I rinsed this out and continued to condition and set my hair in curlformers (yes, those again!) I was surprised as it dried that it was pretty soft, not cured but it was definitely in a better condition than the previous week.
