As the frontman of the multi-platinum-selling band Poison he’s spent a good part of his life on the road, and now Bret Michaels is helping to promote a program that puts adoptable dogs on the road to a life with a loving, forever family.

Following in the footsteps of such other famous friends of Fidos as Kristen Bell and So You Think You Can Dance judge Adam Shankman, the Rover-loving rocker (who launched a line of Pets Rock products in 2011) has stepped in front of the camera to film an introductory segment for Rescue Waggin’: Tales from the Road.

Produced by DakotaKid Media, the production company owned by actor Josh Duhamel, (who also narrates the PetSmart Charities web series), the third of eight webisodes begins with Bret Michaels voicing his support for the option of pet adoption.

Over the course of Rescue Waggin’: Tales from the Road, the camera captures the journey of a Rescue Waggin’ rescue vehicle as it makes its way from Carthage, Missouri to the Golden Valley campus of the Animal Humane Society, a non-profit in Minnesota which is the leading animal welfare organization in the Upper Midwest.

Since its start in 2004, 70,000 companion animals have been saved thanks to the PetSmart Charities Rescue Waggin’ program, which transported 11,000 pets in 2013 in eight trucks which traversed to 41 animal shelters at 19 different destinations
