Fans of Fidos and famous faces can celebrate puppy love the day after Valentine’s Day at the fifth annual Bully Ball.
Actor Robert “IronE” Singleton, known by film fans for his portrayal of Alton in the Academy Award-nominated movie The Blind Side and by television viewers as “T-Dog” in the AMC series The Walking Dead, will step into the role of honorary chairman for the swank soiree, which will take place at the St. Regis in Atlanta, Georgia. Co-chairs for the event are the Bully Ball’s founder, Kelley Brim Hollowell, and William P. “Bill” Fralic, Jr., a former professional football player with the Atlanta Falcons and Detroit Lions.
A line-up of athletes who once suited up in football pads will be suited and booted for The Bully Ball, including:
Kevin Butler– The former Chicago Bears kicker who helped his team to a Super Bowl victory in 1985 was an honorary chair of The Bully Ball in 2011.
Brian Finneran– A wide receiver who has player for the Seattle Seahawks, Barcelona Dragons, Philadelphia Eagles and the Atlanta Falcons.
David Greene– Seattle Seahawks, who has been in the huddle to help English Bulldogs in need every year with appearances at The Bully Ball.
D.J. Shockley– Quarterback for the Omaha Nighthawks.
Jon Stinchcomb– An offensive tackle for the New Orleans Saints, Stinchcomb also showed his support for the Fido-themed fundraiser in 2013.
Attendees can put on their poker faces and try their luck at various Vegas-style casino games all for the sake of dogs who have been dealt a bad hand by life; place bids in live and silent auctions or try to win a raffle prize; and enjoy tasty treats ranging from filet mignon to vegetarian fare.
A happening with heart, all of the proceeds from The Bully Ball will help to pay the veterinary bills of neglected, injured or abused English Bulldogs who are now receiving comfort and care at Georgia English Bulldog Rescue and other English Bulldog rescues in the southeast.
