JACKSONVILLE, Fla.—Georgia’s season ends here on Wednesday with its Gator Bowl clash with Nebraska, but some future Bulldogs will be on display later this week in high school all-star games.

I got a chance today to catch up with some Georgia verbal commitments and one big target.

Here’s a quick update from those playing in the Under Armour All-American game in Florida and the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in Texas:

–Norcross defensive end Lorenzo Carter, who some feel Georgia is well-positioned to land, is the state’s top-rated prospect by Scout.com. He’s playing in the Under Armour game.

Asked if he had a good idea where he’ll sign, Carter said: “I wish I did know where I was going. I have narrowed it down to four. It’s LSU, Florida State, Georgia and Florida. Those four. LSU has ground to make up and I feel like they have a legitimate chance. Florida State’s having an awesome season and Georgia’s in my backyard. Florida, coach (Will) Muschamp and his coaching staff, is great.”

The 6-foot-5, 234-pound Carter has official visits still to make. He’s planning a signing day announcement. He’s friendly with Georgia linebackers Reggie Carter (South Gwinnett) and Shaun McGee (Brookwood).

For now, he’s enjoying practices in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. The game is Thursday in St. Petersburg on ESPN at 4 p.m.

“I can’t complain,” Carter said. “We’re out here in Florida, just hanging out.”

–Also playing in the Under Armour game are defensive tackle Lamont Gaillard (Fayetteville, N.C.) and tight end Jeb Blazevich (Charlotte, N.C.), both Georgia commitments.

The 6-foot-4, 326-pound Gaillard expects to play nose guard. He’s a fan of John Jenkins, the former Bulldogs space eater now with the New Orleans Saints.

Blazevich said the Under Armour practices “is definitely a grind, not really what I’m used to, but I’m enjoying it.”

On his game, the 6-5, 230-pound Blazevich said: “As I’m learning this week, I’m not stellar in any one thing, really, but I’ll work hard and I’ll outwork somebody. That’s one thing I have going for me.”

–Georgia has six commitments playing in San Antonio at the U.S. Army game (Saturday, 1 p.m., NBC): tailbacks Nick Chubb (Cedartown) and Sony Michel (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.), offensive linemen Isaiah Wynn (St. Petersburg, Fla.) and Dyshon Sims (Lowndes), cornerback Malkom Parrish (Brooks County) and quarterback Jacob Park (Goose Creek, S.C.).

Michel is getting to know his future teammates.

“I’m actually rooming with one of them, Isaiah Wynn,” Michel said. “And I’m in the backfield with Chubb and out here with a couple of other guys.”

Michel and Wynn, both from Florida, knew each other before this week.

Chubb and Michel will join a stocked backfield at Georgia.

“We’re just starting a new journey,” Michel said. “It starts here at this all-star game and it’s going to carry on to Georgia.”

Much more on recruiting in the weeks ahead leading up to signing day.
