The Doane baseball team opened the 2016-17 season on Saturday in Fargo, North Dakota, in the GPAC/NSAA Challenge. The Tigers faced Valley City State in the opener and the Vikings already had two games under their belt this season while the game against Winnipeg was the season-opener for the Wesmen. Doane took both games to open 2-0 for new coach Josh Oltmans.
